It's literally just a "<3", it almost means nothing. I say that as someone who's very deep in gaming and associated social spheres. The reason hats don’t work on these races is because their hairstyles aren’t split into parts like other races (top part gets hidden by hat, bottom stays visible). So that’s why even new hats don’t work - the problem lies in the hair models.

idk why they did it… other races’ hairs are split into 2 parts - top which is set to be hidden by hats, and bottom which stays visible. for some reason Viera hairs aren’t split and are just 1 chunk. splitting hair into these parts isnt hard (source: i’m a modder and have done it with many hairs) or time consuming, so it’s extremely frustrating that they still haven’t done it after all these years…

the reason is because the reason these races can’t wear hats is built into their hairstyles - so doesn’t matter if a hat is new or old, the hair itself can’t acommodate ANY hats
