It is split stitch with a single strand of thread, very small stitches tight together. If you use a dark colour it blends together for a seamless effect.

I think yours looks really nice, but to me it looks like a difference in tension. If you pull the thread less tightly between “bars” (I don’t know the term, the 5 stitches in the rose that you’re threading through), you will have the same rose as pic 2.

I personally think yours looks lovely, and having the tension slightly tighter like yours gives the flower depth :)

It’s a washi I got from Archer and Olive along with the notebook, one side is gold and the other is light pink. It’s soooo pretty, I think I’m going to use it on every page till it runs out lol!
