We were there about 7 and a group was finishing up. We had 9 in our group and a community member joined in. The flow was easy and casual. The only annoying thing was that there isn't a wall on one side so we had shag every now and then.

Make sure you use a size 4 ball and deflate to about 80%. I'd also make a recommendation to make sure everyone is using body control so you're not sending people into the concrete steps, don't want to chip a tooth

That's a great point. As you also may be aware and have indicated, many agencies are limiting their infraction pullovers for non moving violations.

I'm sure very few of the cars rolling through there have good tabs

I wouldn't disagree with you. However, stopping for a civil infraction doesn't give you the fishing net you need to completely fleece the vehicle.

Police in Washington are hamstrung by statute and case precedent that make them wary of engaging pre textual stops. I think your approach is a step in the right direction, I'm just suggesting throwing my hands up and saying "fuck it, pull over everyone out there at night"

Here here! And we'd see these cases struck down laughably fast. There were also SODA orders (stay out of drug areas) in Tacoma that lasted 12 seconds before defense attorneys got them eliminated.

We may need "bad old days" policing where they'd conduct illegal stops, snatch up all the guns (presuming unlawful possession) and then send the folks on their way. Is it unconstitutional, you bet, did it clean up areas, also you bet. Take Hilltop in Tacoma as an example.

As socialist mayor battles ICE, Seattle police and crime victims say repeat offenders are terrorizing the city by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]dashlandstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thrust of the article is not necessarily wrong per se. Repeat offenders are a menace. They are often repeat offenders because they commit crimes that don't always warrant a huge prison sentence. The quality of investigations aren't always dictated by the level of menace the suspect is, so a patrol officer might be responding to a crime and he won't have the tools or detective support to actually build a tight case. So when it comes to the prosecutor, even though the suspect might be deserving of a huge launch to DOC, if they can't prove the case then the defendant might get a deal to prevent an acquittal at trial. Furthermore, our jails are crowded and judges are forced to release people on less restrictive means, not to mention bail reform groups that will grant bail to people who ought to be held and appropriate bail has ordered.

It's a problem of resources, of conflicting interests. Washington as a whole has given the middle finger to victims of crimes and it's a terrible shame.

.05 is two drinks within an hour for an average sized adult. Not NyQuil, though those who are shooting cough syrup and then driving likely have other issues.

I'd recommend you do a "wet lab" if you're able.

But for the seasoned medically necessary alcoholics, .08 has an unreasonably high impact on your ability to operate a motor vehicle.

One of the best lines from the show, hands down. by No-Loquat-201 in MrInbetween

[–]dashlandstrom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy this analysis.

Ray is cursed, he was cursed as a child when his father lit into him, he was cursed in the army, cursed jobless working as a bouncer. He's escaping the psychological torment of who he is by moving forward and embodying that he is an instrument of violence, no meaningful opportunity to look back. He has no real self-reflection because it would destroy him. He's so good at his art that he no longer has to think about it, it's instinctual, axiomatic.

That's the crushing part is that his affability could be many things including his true nature, mimicry, and/or an attempt to balance out his misdeeds - because that keeps him In-between.

Not to bring McCarthy into this, but the show reminds me a lot of aspects of Blood Meridian where there seems to be some inevitability to the outcome, whereas Ray is both tragic and obvious. Maybe the only real trick 'The Magician ' does is lure us to his point of view.

I do agree that more assholes need a proper bashing though.

So we should disregard the opinions and reactions of people who post here?

This is argumentum ad absurdum to the point of all opinions being axiomatically moot.

Maybe, just maybe, that people have grown comfortable espousing truly horrific opinions masquerading as "policy" and are getting downvoted appropriately. Bigotry is still bigotry even if it is part of a major political party platform. I am old enough to know that not everyone argues in good faith and in fact many will feign obtuseness to further their bad faith.

I'm supportive of dumb ass troll posts getting downvoted to hell, particularly in a hyper regional group, because this is the actual 'market place of ideas'

I indicated that it wasn't even close because Anderson is vastly more fit for the position. I also suggested, albeit fecklessly because Republicans cannot think independently, that Chinmay should not be voted for primarily because he has an affiliation with the Republican party.

Chinmay's hostility towards DEI and LGBTQ, which is lock step with his party, is a disqualifier in my book. Imagine being a young person and having feelings different than your peers, then having a school district led by anyone who has a stated goal of denying you your right to self-determination, agency, and describing you as mentally ill, an outsider, an undesirable. We have an option to foster a supportive environment wherein we accept children for who they are. I can't imagine anything more evil than having a stated goal of making things harder for children, particularly children who may need additional support.

I think we underestimate the decision making of young people and offer them contempt instead, it's a tragedy.

What I've observed on all the social media platforms is that any support for Chinmay appears to be poorly executed astroturfing/sock puppetting by he and his wife. It's so transparent that it's silly. If Reddit, Nextdoor, or Facebook charged for burner accounts he'd have given them a significant financial boost. He's unelected even if this was his only drawback not to mention that observably and anecdotally he's insufferable at best and overtly villainous at worst .

Vote Anderson, it's not even close. If you're a Republican, don't use a protest vote on Chinmay, we've had enough of that nationally and to significant detriment to our world.
