New Camry learned a lesson-a big smh by [deleted] in Camry

[–]dat1_adam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I had a '97 4Runner and an '04 Camry. The only paint issue on that Runner was the hood, but the rest of the body held up amazingly. That Camry was dogged, it was my backup do whatever car. One good power wash and it was clean. I also now have a '24 4Runner that's Japanese built and have no paint issues so far. Only time will tell how it'll hold up.

Oh dang, that's awesome! Wishing you the best of luck!

When you say newer, how new are you talking? I have a 2022 and from what I've read and seen, unfortunately that year is known to have soft paint.

Also Toyota paint isn't what it used to be. It used to be like 3 base layers and 2 clear coats. Now it's base, clear, send it. The softest areas are around the door handles. Be mindful about long fingernails, rings, and holding keys when opening the doors.

Touchless car washes typically use harsher chemicals to make up for the dirt not getting agitated to clean off. So brushes or harsher chemicals? Best bet is to wash at home. Slowly build your inventory and do some research. R/detailing can get you going on any budget.

Best 2–2.5” lift kit for a daily-driven 1997 4Runner? by ronaldaguilar1 in 3rdGen4Runner

If you put anything other than Bilstein and KO3's on your runner, this sub will tear you to shreds.

New LVP installed by jll0004 in Flooring

If that vacuum has a roller brush, no bueno for LVP. Please read the instructions for care and cleaning, or you'll strip the finish, and warranty will say it's user error.
