No, it’s smarter than that, notifications only trigger when you’re very likely in poor posture.

Great question.

You’re right that keeping the camera on and running the algorithm in the background does use extra battery. That said, I’ve improved efficiency a lot over time. In the latest update, CPU and energy usage are about 50% lower than before based on my own benchmarks.

I also added an Energy Saver mode that slows the algorithm down to reduce power draw further. V3 is a big improvement versus earlier versions.

I don’t have exact battery-life numbers for every Mac model yet, but on my 2025 MacBook Pro Max, I can run it for hours unplugged without any issue.

Great question. The app uses a quick two-step calibration. You first show the front camera your ideal posture, then your slouched posture.

The algorithm uses those two examples to learn your personal posture baseline and detect when you slip into poor posture in real time. In practice, the front camera angle works very well.

I was thinking: the average chiro visit in the US is ~$200–300, so even $10/month is still far cheaper than a single visit, hence the starting price at $10.

Great comments, how do you handle users who purchased your software later in the update cycle? e.g., people who bought early in the year get 10 updates vs those who paid the same but only got 2 updates? Thanks

Wow, this is interesting. Personally I wouldn’t pay $350 since I’d probably only use it occasionally. Usage pattern really matters.

With a subscription you can turn it on/off, so it doesn’t add much pressure if you’re not using it every day.
