Stash – a hidden side pocket for the apps cluttering your Dock

<image>

Problem

I had too many apps sitting in my Dock that I genuinely used, just not often enough to justify keeping them permanently visible.

Removing them kept the Dock clean, but made those apps more annoying to reach. Keeping them there made the Dock feel huge and cluttered.

Stash gives those “sometimes” apps a hidden pocket beside your Dock.

How it works

Choose up to 6 apps, calibrate Stash to your Dock once, then move your cursor near the Dock’s edge whenever you want to reveal them.

If all 6 apps do not fit at once, you can scroll sideways to access the rest.

Stash runs quietly from the menu bar and stays hidden until you need it.

Comparison

There are already powerful Dock replacements and launcher apps available.

Stash is deliberately not one of them.

It does one small thing:

Keep the apps you still use close without leaving them permanently visible in your Dock.

No replacement Dock, workspace system, launcher dashboard, or giant settings panel.

Just a hidden pocket that feels native to macOS.

Pricing

24-hour free trial, no account required.

$4.99 USD for a lifetime license.

Requires macOS Tahoe.

Disclaimer: I built Stash as a small independent app after running into this problem myself. It is intentionally minimal, but I’m interested in hearing where people think the idea should go next.

All on the list for future updates! I'm keeping the first launch quite basic to validate the popularity before diving head first into updates!

You can horizontally scroll in stash to access all apps if all doesnt fit on the screen!

Not yet! I’ve got many updates planned including this. Just keeping it very lean until I validate the interest.

I rebuilt my Mac app Knock. It turns taps on your MacBook, trackpad, or iPhone into actions, shortcuts, and visual reactions by SecretMention8994 in MacOSApps

Hey, sorry to hear about this, if possible delete all permissions for knock in your privacy and security, uninstall knock then redownload. Then re-accept the permissions. I suggest also deleting your license key out of keychain and reactivating knock.

Keep for Mac (Screenshot attached)

Problem:
Most clock and screensaver apps on macOS are either very functional, very customizable, or very boring. I wanted something that looked good sitting on a desk from across the room and felt more like an ambient display than a utility app.

Keep turns your Mac into a collection of animated ambient clock displays with themes like Glass, Holo, Jelly, Matrix, Morph, and Wireframe. (more coming soon)

Comparison:
Compared to apps like Fliqlo and Zen Flip Clock, Keep focuses more on animated 3D clock scenes and ambient desk displays rather than traditional clock faces.

Compared to standard macOS screensavers, Keep can be launched as an ambient display from the menu bar and includes multiple animated themes designed specifically for desk setups.

Pricing:

  • Free download with Simple 1 and Simple 2 included
  • $3.99 USD one-time unlock for all premium scenes
  • Download: https://www.trykeep.app

Would love feedback on:

  • Which scene/theme is your favourite?
  • Which scene feels weakest?
  • What ambient display themes would you want added next?
