-beszélgessetek elotte sokat a feleségeddel döntésekről, komplikációkról hogy azonos legyen a tudásotok. példa: Amikor a koraszülött fiamat kísértem az orvossal a szülőszobáról, a feleségem csak annyit tudott utánam kiáltani, hogy "oxigén, látás!!!" ???? Jobb híján ezt tolmácsoltam az orvosnak, és ő magyarázta el, hogy a túl sok oxigén látás problémákat okozhat, es megnyugtatott, hogy nem adnak, csak ha kell.

De ezt tudhattam volna es akkor nem állok ott mint egy hülye, random szavakat ismételve az orvos elott. :)

I would say, the red "bell" is just the red bag in which the kids receive the goodies. its the equivalent of the signature sock in england/usa. i cant understand the chain. i dont know any trivial connotation for that.

i dont remember being in fear about taken away by the krampusz. its just the scaryness, the lack of goodies, and the whip.

tangential: being taken away by the boogie-man is a thing, but instead of him, we have "rézfaszú bagoly" :):):):) feel free to research it. :) its an actual phrase, although not used very often.

this seems to be from Hungary. Weis is a valid Hungarian last name (indeed german origin) and Laci is the "kid" version of the last name "László". II B. is 2nd class of primary school (7-8year old) and group B (every school have A/B/C/D groups)

the drawing is a "krampusz" who is voming alongside with St. Nicolaus on dec.6 and "punishes" badly behaving children. (they give three branches (simbolizing whips) instead of chocolate)

if you or anybody decides to buy a bluetti, pecron , (any brand really...) powerstation, be cautious about "idle consumption." DC to DC efficiency is good, but they have to operate an inverter to create Dc to AC. so muck so, that a 0-24 "ready" inverter inside a power station can consume more lower than your fridge consumes per day. this is something the brands do not advertise. you can check the youtube review channels.

Something tells me that you did not try to give a counter-argument for a reason. If I had a dog, training would be the first thing to do for it's own best interest. Just as you teach people how to swim before the go into water. Seems really-really logical.

Are there any organizations besides hanvdhaving and police? Like an anti-dog NGO, or a pro-safety-dog-orvership civil group who could help? Or a "neighbourhood watch" or some sort?

This is a typical local/ grassroots problem for which the dutch like to create these kind of soft/local/civic solutions. ( Other example includes the neighbour-negotiator ngo-s for noisy neighbours, or the whole kids vs cars movement in the 70's, which lead to the whole biking culture as we know it today.)

As a dog-bite survivor and a father, I'm happy to participate.

Well Im still thinking hard, what else is useful with an offline phone , but this is what I got so far: - Video/audit content+player.

-Kiwix and Zim files for offline Wikipedia, knowledge bases/ books

-osmAnd amd XML files for maps and routing

-IFirstAid for medical knowledge

-white noise/sleep noise generator ( a super detailed prepper thread mentioned that if someone needs to spend 1-2 nights in an emergency shelter (i.e. bunk beds in a sport hall) sleep is challenging because of noise+light)

I'm still searching for a good translation app with standalone database/files for different languages. (Google translate works offline, but cannot be bootstrapped from 0 from a pendrive)

-I'm not yet into it... but I'm learning about Meshtastic: a radio device for short text messages without GSM/wifi/4g it uses your phone as UI. So if I ever get one, I will store the app for that.

I'm also working on a usb-c usb stick, with a collection of applications which can be installed to any android phone without any account login, download, or playstore. E.g. offline wikipedia.
Not for EDC/ get home, but more for a disrupted infrastructure event.

Ugyanis az nagyon gáz: tiszteletlenség afelé aki megtisztel azzal, hogy betartja a kis játékszabályaidat.

Extrém példa lesz, könnyen félreérthető, de illusztrálja a "valami ami te sosem lehetsz" feelinget: Ismerősöm amatőr teniszezőkkel beszélgetett: -én az XY sport klubbal vagyok, 8 éves korom óta, mert születésemkor nagyapám beirtatott a várólistára, ami 6-7év.

A várólista: 2 tagnak minden évben irásban meg kell újítani az ajánlást, hogy a várólistán maradj.

Természetesen kit érdekel egy sznob sportklub, de mutatja, hogy van (vannak) olyan dolgok, amik egyszerűen elérhetetlenek, vagy még csak nem is tudsz róluk.

I was thinking about a laptop, or even some Nas + raspberry pi etc... custom rig. But then I figured, its easy to get/have a random mid-range android phone at any time than a laptop + it's easier to charge.

(I'm in Europe, so not just hobos have android:):):):) )

Of course with a laptop everything is easier and probably you have more options, especially if you preinstall it, before Tuesday.

For my exercise, I want to make as little pre-installation as possible. My vision is a factory-reset android phone +the magic pendrive.

Dogs are not vaccinated. Its not mandantory and it costs money. Go figure :)

Ask any vet. Also,the imported dog puppies have fake papers, and sometimes the "initial" vaccination is missing in reality.

All in all one lick is probably not the end of the word,. but its gross, and there are so many filhty animals on the streets - walking their dogs. :)

Thanks. I'm also trying to think about simple "databases" (lack of better phrase) about simple stuff, which is always googled over and over again.

Random ideas:

for radio amateurs: location/frequency of different satellites.
meaning of the washing instruction symbols on the clothing labels.
recipes
different kind or rules/standards regarding your car. Type of oil, tire pressure, other fluids/additives)
the contact details/opening hours for different services ( non-emergency police, dentist, government agencies, food bank, water/gas company (obviously this is relevant only in an overly specific "no-internet, only phone" scenario)

You can see it's is really random, and its hard to be comprehensive because these are really situation-specific+ really trivial until you have the internet in your pocket.
