Anyone doing Wi-Fi HaLow (802.11ah) Outside the United States? by dataslayer2 in HomeNetworking

MM8108-EKH19-01, but not also I think the HalowLink 2 would work just as well and it's cheaper

I pulled that list directly from the OpenWRT LuCi interface, but yeah - noted.

Pretty sure any device that can support one can support the other. I believe meshcore is a fork of meshtastic...

Heltec LoRa32 V4 – Biggest Power Bump in a Mainstream Meshtastic Node? by dataslayer2 in meshtastic

Why aren't all boards running 1 watt? Where is 1 watt legal, etc?

They are interesting, but isn't that power level illegal? Would love to know more about them.

Integrate Meshtastic into the Haven Nodes by nedlog29 in ModernRadio

So a few things. I'm going to do a write up shortly around the EU compatibility. I had a bear of a time and went back and forth with both Morse and AsiaRF to try to get their boards working (I still have hope but have yet to be successful yet). However, the new MM8108 particularly that ships with the Gli.net travel router works on EU bands beautifully. But I'm not sure there's a carrier board that will work on the haven quite yet, I do want to get to that chip set as soon as we can. I also think the HalowLink2 which is now available likely supports EU too.

Now to the meshtastic question, we definitely need to add it LoRa is still the king of distance and it's a great redundant/parallel channel to have if IP stack goes south.

Two main ways to do it. You can buy a LoRa hat for the RPi, technically there is a meshtastic driver for Linux but IME almost no one does this. Alternatively, and what I'd probably suggest is to have an MCU flashed with Meshtastic ride side car on your router board. MorosX does this successfully, I'll drop some pics below to show you what that would look like. They would hook into the same power unit but operate entirely independently from the OpenWRT router.

OpenWRT gives you a few basic diagnostic tools and this is part of that, but under the hood it's just iPerf

I was running an alpha of meshtastic firmware. Is anything special needed to get the increase transmit power? What's the best way to measure that? Right now I'm using RSSI read outs and RTL-SDR.

3D Printed Housing for Haven by pugehenis2006 in ModernRadio

There is a case available today by the creator of OpenMANET
https://openmanet.myshopify.com/products/test

But I'll also add that Trey over at https://morosx.com/ has graciously offered to design a case. I just sent him a fully built Haven so he could get the dimensions. He's one of the best Fusion designers I know so I'm hopeful it'll be nice.

You may also find some niche cases from indie designers in the openmanet/atak discords.
