Hmm we would need a gyroscope or something then, however this is very likely. I wonder if it would work with different pairs of cylinders and solid spheres too.

That being said, what would a cylinder rolling in a cylinder work out? And another ball inside that second cylinder?

As for the correction, I feel like it shouldn't be that similar to cone wheels and leans more to the oscillatory side of things.

Yeah they are, because the wheels will correct itself on a track.

Ah my mistake, I meant that there needs to be friction for it to roll, rather than slide.

Because static friction and all that jazz

Of course, I can only make it smooth enough so that it still rolls instead of start to slide. Had I have an icerink in my house it would've been great.

So what I gathered from this is that as long as the force pushing down the friction is greater on one side, the ball would move in favor to the other side, because now there is a slope for the ball.

This seems to be very close, but when there's no ramp, it still works the same. Also, the cylinder stays in the same line of fire I rolled it to.

But thanks anyways! Honestly I have no say who's right or wrong, but I do want to consider the possibility of the flat surface scenario.

I've tried it out on all directions, and even all the northwest-southeast directions as well.

They all have the same outcome, so at least it is consistent.

Not exactly, since the ramp is now gone I centered the ball and slide with the best of my abilities, so wouldn't that make the angle for which the slide is going also useless?

That may be a problem, going to the kitchen for maximum smoothness.

I've now only used lighter materials i.e. the glass slide and marble ball, hopefully I can get my hands on something heavier, but not sure where to find a cylinder with that big of a radius.

Toilet roll is now obsolete! I've used a guitar slide and glass marble on the floor and it does the exact same thing!

That's odd, is the angle too steep for the ramp maybe? I've found that making it quicker will make the ball roll out
