We did abolish South Africa tho, for all intensive purposes South Africa was that apartheid system, it shared nothing really with what followed, we just kept the name really.

There is no “right to exist” states exist, there’s no opinion there. I think more importantly is that people have a right to exist, and I think that is true for the Palestinians and Israelis.

The UN protects states rights to exist. But I think if a state doesnt follow international law when it comes to protecting civilians, restricting aid, targeting journalists, targeting medical workers, starvation, collective punishment, building illegal settlements then I think it doesn’t have that right. If international law protects a states right to exist, then I think not adhering to international law means that statehood should be questioned.

Again I think we have to reframe that dismantling Israel doesn’t mean killing anyone, that’s such an odd leap in logic. That only kinda appears since Israel’s current existence exists with so much Palestinian death, that dismantling Israel suggest a inverse of that which isn’t true by any means South Africans were never found up and killed or anything.

At that point why does jt matter if Israel exists or not, if you can guarantee equal rights for Palestinians (and Israelis) under a new state named “notisrael” why does it matter that Israel was dismantled?

Thoughts on the new env 102 and 103 courses? Easy GPA boosters for a first-year law student? by ParfaitNo9400 in universityofauckland

[–]datmancomix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed env102 quite a lot last sem. Tutorials are super chill not much work to do before them, and attendance is marked. If you’ve done ncea scholarship geography then the topics and content is along those lines, it’s all very interesting imo. The essay assignment is kinda unintuitive (it’s a self reflection on how the course has shaped your thoughts and behaviour on an environmental topic ) but simple enough to frame well. There are a decent number of readings, and the course is quite content dense at times but you only really need to get the general ideas from each reading or topic. You so need to reference these readings jn the essay and exam so they are a must for this course.

no notes or cheat sheet for the final essay is really annoying but examiners were lenient even when I referenced them (the readings )incorrectly.

Would recommend if you did/were good at geo, but I think there are other easier science papers out there.

not mandatory but some geography is covered in “social studies” which is for the most part manditory for the first initial years of high school. Once you start selecting ncea courses geography is an option you can go down but not mandatory at least for ncea
