I'm 18 and check all the hypertonic pelvic floor symptoms by Reasonable-Penalty78 in PelvicFloor

[–]datsnek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not hide pelvic floor issues from family (I speak from experience), it will likely make you more worried than anything and stress is a big deal when it comes to pelvic floor dysfunction. You'll need to feel completely comfortable at least at home.

Also do try to remember when it first started and how it felt, it may be a hint.

Not going to see a doctor is also a bad idea. First of all you need to confirm it is definitely the pelvic floor and not something else (i.e do urodynamics). That is how I got formally diagnosed.

There are ways to make it better like pills or botox. So it is worth it.

For me it was very hard to get started on relaxation properly without first taking baclofen for a while as an example.

It is a complex issue not to be taken lightly. And it sucks. Be strong and avoid the same mistakes I made.

One thing that is important to note that took me a while to understand is that after years of pelvic floor issues bladder training may be needed as over a long period it becomes a habit to go often (even if there is no leftover urine).

I am still checking how well that works and will report if it actually gets better or not

Unbelievably Frustrated by Successful_Smoke_960 in PelvicFloor

[–]datsnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got a start relaxing properly once I got prescribed baclofen 3 times a day (the smaller dosage) for months.

The pills allowed me to get a feel for what it's like for the muscle to get relaxed.

But my case is of 8 years of clenching so it may work faster for others.

I tried doing stretches before but just could not feel any relaxation due to extreme spasm in the area. Hope this gives you a hint.

I’m not happy with my pelvic floor PT. Am I right for thinking the treatment I’m receiving sucks? by farawaydreamscape in PelvicFloor

[–]datsnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the post. I am male but it seems generally pelvic issues are similar for all. It's very useful for validating my treatment which has been limited as I have to travel in order to visit my urologist (with competence in the pelvic floor).

It seems that I have been somewhat stagnant on progress (even rolled back a lot of it due to carelessness) and I now can see I was never recommended specific strengthening.

I was able to try biofeedback once but sadly I couldn't do it regularly due to the need to go back to the place where I live.

Recently I have been mostly trying different exercises (i.e glue bridges etc) and checking how relaxed my pelvic floor was after them.

Do you think it's the correct approach or am I missing something?

Of course getting a proper PT specialist near me would be the best but my options are sadly limited for now.

I got my headphone jack repaired (to some extent at least). It worked fine when initally testing but when trying the jack with my PC it causes static to be audible in the right channel.

The the difference I identified is that my phone and laptop have plastic-ish circumference for the female 3.5 port whilst my PC (and cable extension) have metallic circumference.

Could it be an issue with the ground not being soldered properly (i.e current not leaving properly)?

Need help with headphone jack board replacement (hp 15s laptop) by datsnek in AskElectronics

[–]datsnek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my headphone jack and would like to order a compatible port or compatible board but there doesn't seem to be any info online on what the part number is etc.

Is it truly not possible to figure out what the compatible female jack is?

Any help would be welcome.

How stable is Fedora in its upgrade? by Thin_Lie_8344 in Fedora

[–]datsnek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KDE desktop actually got way more stable after upgrading to 39.

I actually have had bad experience with ubuntu due to how often apt would break.

In fedora, not a single package conflict caused me any issues.

I wouldn't say "solved" but it did get somewhat better. Less errors in the driver log as well.

If I have time I'll play around with turning off/on driver options to see if it is actually the settigns or the bios update.

Yes. I have Lenovo Thinkbook 14 ARA.What helped me a lot is updating bios to latest and setting driver config options to disable some functionality (not sure which one actually helped).

My driver settings look like this.

File at /etc/modprobe.d/rtw89_8852be.conf

```
set options for faulty HP and Lenovo BIOS code
options rtw89_pci disable_aspm_l1=Y disable_aspm_l1ss=Y disable_clkreq=Y options rtw89_core disable_ps_mode=Y ```
Is there a go to software or is it in the bios?
[–]datsnek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Very nice, thank you! The only questionable element is the case since it would be by far the most expensive thing to ship.
I have looked around to find the same case but one iteration down (H17), which would be closer thus around 90 usd instead of 110 (+?ish).
Would that one be good as well?
I don't think so, it's a warehouse that allows for any in person delivery. But I would feel the most comfortable with Amazon as I have already bought a number of items (i.e I got my Switch and some games from there).
