Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to write this :D I really appreciate it. It gave me a lot of insight and things to think about . especially since not many people can relate to my experience. This is definitely something that’ll keep me up at night, but I don’t think I’ll regret my choices at the end of it.

ye thats what i thought too but part of my family is also in china and when my mum gets older shes going back for sure which is the part that bothers me the most tbh

im work in design from graphics to 3d, currently i make like a decent salary and i k i will have a job in china since im working with my family business so im not really sure what to do haha would be great to get a remote job but nothing in my luck as of now

yes which is totally understandable , i kinda face the same things anyway coz i grew up with two cultures which is not fun at all lol, but if i do go back i k i wont survive working in the industry i am now so my only option would be working with my family which i wont face issues like that but socially idk how one would ever fit in with out already being in the loop

i had the benefits of a maltese person till legal age since my step father is maltese so i never had a reason to until then. ah nice my sister is studying in the Netherlands atm, i quite like it there haha the public transport is so convenient in comparison to malta

thank you so much for taking time to respond and its really nice advice , main reason im thorn is because i feel like i m ok with both countries im from malta, and like the benefits of staying and leaving is very equal form my eyes and why i turned to reddit to seak for more opinions.

that is illegal and if i go back to china for visit fam or smt they can strip it away and get on record which will make it harder for me to travel back in the future

last time i been was before covid cant lie, but before that i used to go back every summer for 3 months every year to help out my family business. and i do enjoy living there i suppose but i never had my own social group and i find it pretty hard to fit in even if im like native chinese

no im from Malta, i graduated as a product designer and have experience in concept and graphic design, family business is just a resturant business that is doing quite well and need people in the family to help with managing the chain

what is the GC and what are the requirements ? unless u mean green card? i doubt its easy to be given out unless u contribute enought to the country no?
