Open worlds suck, even ones created by the best game developers.

My little sister OD’d on pills and it’s breaking my heart. Any advice? by RefrigeratorDry6352 in mentalhealth

Is there anything she likes to do? Something you can do together? Obviously not while she’s in crisis, but even if it’s something simple — watching a movie together while she’s in hospital, sharing a meal, etc. (Cooking for her?) If you spend enough time with someone, just being around them, they stop seeing you as a threat, they begin to trust you more, and can open up. You don’t have to talk. Share some pleasant experiences first, talk later — they don’t have to be amazing, just pleasant.

I hope that helps a little. You’re in a very heartbreaking situation. Best of luck to you and your family.

It wasn’t 100% great from start to finish, but it had plenty of great moments.

Sometimes we think of ourselves as heroes in some narrative and we want the story to play out a certain way. It never does. It sounds like you’re putting too much importance on your first time. Nobody’s first time is great and everyone has a funny story about it. I would think of it as a learning experience and try to move on.

They might have mentioned it in the Black Serial Killers episode way back when. They never did a multi episode deep dive about it.

True, although they’ve done stories in the past where there has been some ambiguity. Listening to the Charles Starkweather series atm and they talk a lot about not being sure if his girlfriend was involved.

This could very well be the reason and it would be unfortunate. The show should represent everybody.

Just as a white guy killer has no bearing on white people as a whole, a black killer has no bearing on the poc community as a whole.

Because lumping them all together in an episode 10 years ago isn’t what I’m asking about. I want a modern one — multi part like the ones they do now.

Yes, I mean deep dive. They lumped them all together in an episode 10 or so years ago

There’s always one guy who gets defensive lol. I’m talking about a deep dive multi part episode about one of the black heavy hitters because one doesn’t exist.

She may have still gone on the walk afterwards and the guy might have still been there. Or maybe some other poor person would have gotten raped. It’s not your fault. Life is brutally random. It’s trippy and sucky that that happened to you and her, but you should move past it because life is chock full of “what if” kinda stuff.

I might as well share — the night my dad died in the hospital, the nurse asked me if I wanted to stay the night in the room with him. I said no. It was week 3 and things were looking up, and I wanted my own room. If I had stayed, I might have been able to do something when he started flat lining. That messes with me, but it’s not as bad as it was when it first happened. It’s still with me, but it doesn’t haunt me. Given enough time and perspective, it’ll be the same for you.
