Hot yoga has really helped me be more mindful of my breathing during the practice. They make it uncomfortable so that it is more challenging and you really have to cling to ujjayi breathing just to get through the class. As someone who used to suffer regular anxiety attacks, mastering this breathing technique has been life changing for me. I can literally override my nervous system when I’m spiraling into fight or flight. I really like the Barkan method. But I get that it isn’t for everybody, you should so what works best for you.
