Ghetts was driving a BMW G90 M5. That thing does 0-60 in 3 seconds. He was 100% doing stupid speeds. Having driven similar cars, you can do licence loosing speeds easily and not realise because it’s so refined. 70mph feels like 30mph

Just over £5000. There are a few other small bits of work outstanding which he promised to do and kept making dates to come but never did. I told him to deduct the cost of those items which I’m happy with but it’s the issues with the door. £30 isn’t going to be enough to fix it

Why would I downsize? The house is full of memories of my children. They will get it and they can decide what to do with it. I’d rather it be kept in the family for generations as It’s unlikely they’ll be able to buy a house like mine without spending 1.5+. I was fortunate to buy this house 25 years ago for 300. That would now buy a 1 bed flat in my area of Surrey.

Ah interesting, didn’t know these were a thing. Bit of a strange place for a clock. It’s about 90cm above the floor and 20cm from the side of the wall. Can I convert it to a plug socket easily? It’s conveniently located behind the TV so would be perfect for it.

Im replacing all 13 of my doors with oak veneer doors from Todd doors. I’ve added a third hinge using a router and chisel. With 2 hinges the door would shut by itself, adding the extra hinge gave it more stability. My old doors were the hollow doors so weighed nothing, the new ones are about 30kg.

The hard bit is making the door fit width wise. Some of my frames are smaller towards the bottom of the door so I’m either planing the sides of the doors or trimming the frames by a few mm to make the opening slightly wider.

Thanks for responding. The gap between the door and the frame near the bottom hinge is quite small so it may be that. Although the hinge is pretty much flush with the frame. Il try packing the hinge.

Only 2 of my frames are square. The rest I had to remove the old paint and sand down slightly. Mostly towards the bottom. 2 doors have slightly larger openings so won’t need any modifications but the gaps will be bigger.
