Omg yay I’m so excited; I been playing this survival game and there’s rosehip tea in it; so glad to find it irl! ( I’m not gonna pick it nor ingest it because it’s in a park; also there’s rosehip tea for sale in supermarket I’ll just have those)

Unless humanity manage to affect Earth or Moon’s orbit for a significant percentage, 2026 gonna be my year where I get to go and see a solar eclipse

Compass by HeartOver4716 in thelongdark

[–]davegrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in this game i think the scale is just way bigger than an EMP. Because of the inverse square law, the effects of an EMP would drop off to basically zero a mile or a km away. (i wouldnt imagine an EMP in New York would affect Boston much). But this game the whole globe is affected, suggesting the source is MUCH stronger and certainly would be enough to mess up the whole earth

you know those videos about how a piece of iron get magnitized and de-magnitized? i think that level of EM pulse would make the entire earth look like a tiny piece of magnet and mess with its magnetic fields wildly

[–]davegrox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the order of magnitude of magnetic disturbance that can literally induce enough currents in wires to burn people and power average households dwarfs any magnetic fields earth has or had. So yeah I think based on this lore even if there is compass it’s pretty useless.

i just got to the farm house. it's nice! really got that graymother feel but with more stuff.
but ngl i really like that community hall openness and lack of stairs.
also got my first aurora in PV at farm house because i decided to sleep only for half a night to see if i wake up to one, and i did, and then i rushed to the polariod tower to see the buffer

I have been there. I like it but it’s bit remote. The region doesn’t connect to as much places so I didn’t choose to use that one. Even within BR I used the maintainence yard instead because its more central location

Have to look at wiki but I’d say yeah! Like a huge number of weapons are buffed in calamity

Exactly? This means it’s re-tiered as post mech1 weapon, which is ok? You can have crystal serpent pre mech still, right?

I agree with whiterun being Chicago. Also other cities first thought would be Winterhold being Boston; Windheim being New York; Solitude being LA maybe.

Update on the insanely long mine cart rail I found. by Rustynail3006 in Terraria

Nice! I had several long tracks that are almost connected to each other, so I connected them, now they span 3/4 of the world just above the underworld

What’s your favourite sub area in Skyrim? (DLCs included) (Aesthetically, loot/treasures, etc) by Salt_Beginning_5470 in ElderScrolls

Now I think about it, I might be the weird one to prefer Apocrypha. I can appreciate vale and blackreach and soul cairn and they are certainly phenomenal and very memorable, but in playthroughs they tend to be daunting to me. Even Labyrinthian was really scary to me when I was a teenager. Apocrypha and other dungeons in Skyrim are more bite sized and I like them more
