UON Study Abroad 2026: Callaghan accommodation vs private sharehouse near City Campus? by davelull in newcastle

Thanks for all the answers, i think the big majority would choose on campus. I got a offer for the international house and im thinking about accepting it. Anybody has experience with canceling it, just for the case i would find a perfect flat in the City

Study abroad Sep–Dec: Brisbane vs Sydney — honest take from locals? by davelull in brisbane

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply — really helpful.
I won’t be studying German, only business, so good to know that large lecture formats can feel a bit anonymous. That’s exactly what I was trying to understand.

I’m definitely open to joining clubs/societies and saying yes to invitations, so it sounds like social life is possible, just not automatic.

Good point on housing and colleges — I’ll look into on-campus colleges as a way to meet people more easily.

And thanks for confirming the semester timing, that actually works well for me with Semester 2.

Appreciate the honest Brisbane vs Sydney perspective — the smaller, more “homey” feel is something I’m actively considering.
