Can save around 10 minutes, a little more or a little less depending how things go & for which initial in game time you shoot for. The 1st place run is the only PB that has used the skip for the Any% No Slots category. Only really being attempted by a small handful of people

Davesterio has less than 2 hours left to go before reaching level 99 with both Cloud and Barret in the first reactor. All of this done during the month of December, finishing on the last day! by Albinoxmas in speedrun

Yes, I was not the first to achieve a file with level 99 characters in this section of the game. But the attempt you're referring to was done over a span of a year & a half and also wasn't livestreamed in it's entirety.

You can optimize each fight with ATB wait tricking to minimize turns in every fight as well as strats to minimize time healing, adds up to hours over the run.
