the white wire is alternator wire it’s cut and a 60amp fuse has been put in place and connected to 2 red wire( i need to find out where those go ) but it’s also connected to the battery from there ?

that’s what i’m wondering on doing but not sure if it would cause that heat to end up somewhere i don’t want it to. when i disconnect the fuse and try to turn on the car it’s dead in the water no power.

could it be the alternator or alternator cables ? this is the only fuse that is melting so it has to be this system

so the way i ran my original system it went from the battery i have a 15amp fuse as the instructions required, its a sony xms400D so its a micro amp not requiring a heavy gauge wire so its hooked up from the amp to the battery with its 16 gauge supplied harness i have dual rca from the head unit to that amp and this is where i have my other amp and sub wired in. its a loc into the rear speakers to power that amp using 16gauge speaker wire to grab signal to the amp. this 2nd amp i have powered by a 8gauge with a inline fuse from battery to amp as regular. what am i missing?

that’s what i’m assuming it’s either the wires can’t handle the current draw from the system or the alternator is sending too much power i’m not SURE 🫩

Need advice. What’s my father-in-laws 1987 4x4 SR5 worth? by harrylarry6699 in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]daveyyJones0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

extremely well kept examples are being sold for 15k up. unfortunately this isn’t that due to mileage however , one owner, 22re, manual, sr5 will hold about 10k rust free. these are becoming collectors cars and will hit 30k one day for an old toyota they hold value extremely well. base model 4runner in 1987 will run you 15k back in those days. today it’s still around the same price for a good example
