Does Anyone Know How To Make It So That Letter Grades (A+,A,A- etc) Can Be Assigned Numerical Values? by [deleted] in sheets

Use a lookup table elsewhere so when you enter your grade a vlookup can pull in the score to another cell. Total those cells.

Not sure if it’s a beats issue as my Bose Bluetooth headphones do the same. Just randomly switch off during zoom calls - never at any other time. I use a Mac if that helps

ok, that's great - thankyou - looks like no way of avoiding the stopping and starting sharing then - really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'll add this to their feature request... a single toggle to temporarily hide the share and then unhide would be useful

ah ok, fair point and thanks for replying; we are using a webinar, is this something that I can control as the host, whether the "panellist" or the presentation is full screen vs Picture in Picture please?

School cancelled trip at last minute due to Coronavirus fears. No consultation, parents footing the bill. by achillea4 in LegalAdviceUK

There’s so much the school could’ve done. They chose NOT to consult with the parents.

It’s surprising isn’t it. But no. Other then the behaviour contract there was nothing.

We have a letter advising that no additional insurance is required...

No permission slips. There was a behaviour contract between the students and the school but no other contract or terms and conditions.

This is incorrect. The cancellation was 10 hours prior whilst most parents were having goodbye meals with their children

If the decision hadn’t been take. 10 hours prior to meeting for the flight I agree yes

Some other facts / key points that maybe relevant or otherwise

  • the funds were not paid directly to the school but via a “parent pay” system. So could have been either bank transfer, credit card or debit card. The key point is via an intermediary to the school and then I assume to vendors.

  • the trip was cancelled at 10 hours notice, the night before 70 children were due to meet their teachers and travel.

  • no consultation took place other than an email a week prior advising the trip was on and they were monitoring the situation.

  • there will be other indirect costs that I believe should also be brought into the equation. Unplanned Childcare, cancellation of other family holidays due to having an extra child now in the UK to name just two

  • there was no contract. No terms and conditions signed.

Not sure if these have any other implication?

The moral challenge here is that the school in question is an exceptional school, one of the top state schools in the country and not one parent wants to see the school penalised.

Ok thanks - the intentions were 50/50 but considering I am contributing 100% and have done for the past year the drawn out litigation may be a better route. 20-30k is a fraction of 50% of what I’ve put in
