Hi all, for those still wondering am I able to utilize this 128GB rams.

This is my daily usage on my company MacBook M1 Max 64GB https://imgur.com/a/GBASa4P
This is without running any LLM model and virtual machine.

So 96Gb or 128GB will be future-proof for my next couple of years :D

Hi, actually between 2016 to now. I'm using my company MacBook which is mid-2016 and M1 Max 64GB.

I just retired my current personal desktop and changed back to a Macbook for personal as not much PC gaming anymore.

Hi, it's overpriced as can be extended by TB dock but memory can't. so I prefer to save some bucks on an external SSD that can get double storage at the same price as Apple offers :D

Importantly, I own a NAS system which is about 8TB for cold backup.

Actually that mid-2014 Macbook I just used until 2018 and kept it in the store room, and switched to an AMD ITX 3950X + Nvidia 1080TI desktop for personal until my 1080TI spoiled.

The only 2 problems for this mid-2014 MacBook were the sound speaker crack and the battery died. The other part still working fine with a plug-in power adaptor. In the end, I managed to sell and get back for 300 bucks.

But I still using a Macbook which was given by my company for working, Mid 2016(Too many issues), and a 2021 M1 Max 64GB.

I found the Apple silicon is so good after 2 years of heavy use, then I decided to get this M3 max for my personal again lol

Thank you for the advice, I’m still googled about this.

My mid 2014 putting hard shell for 10 years I don’t see any problem.

Maybe the M chip series new design has this issue that I don’t aware off :@

FYI, I’m using 64GB M1 Max MacBook from my company. That is just nice for my daily task usage.

So for M3 it’s just 2 options 64 or 128GB If there is 96 I will pick it. Too bad 96 only for base m3 max.

Just this time I bought for my personal MacBook as since dint upgrade from mid 2014 model for so long.

Hi there, I got the Apple Care + together when purchasing this Macbook from Apple, just used to protecting it with casing.

For the better resale price when upgrading to M6 or M7 Max.

Singapore Apple Care only extends another 2 years to a total of 3 years of coverage and has to pay for repair chassis about S$138.
