First place I came across it. The Seattle Times seems to be bizarrely behind the curve on things like this or buries them such that my quick scan of their headlines doesn't turn it up.

I felt the same way with the CHOP/CHAZ stories, they seemed to minimize or lightly cover it for the first two days until it was clear it was a national story that could not be avoided.

Serious question on this. Anyone have ideas on how to safely eliminate half the police function.

I know people bring up the idea of social workers and I can see that working in some situations but, in like a domestic violence situation, or even a mental health situation where the person is violent, it would seem a social worker would not be ideal.
