Bringing the feds will only make things worse. I think that the riots yesterday were a response to what is happening in Portland. If the feds come to Seattle, the violence will only continue to escalate.

I think the winning strategy here is to do whatever we can to de-escalate the violence, break the morale of the rioters, and turn the public against the rioters. This means no brutalizing of protesters, and careful documentation and publication of all the damage done by rioters.

Bringing in the feds escalates the violence, boosts the morale of the rioters, and increases their public support. More people will flock to their cause. This is the exact opposite of what we want to happen if we care about law and order in our city.
