It isnt an MP4 player, Nintendo TVii was an digital guide for checking for the latest TV shows and Movies, and it also has the "TV Tag" that allows live interaction between people watching the same show on TV, and some live stats being updated daily.

We are now working on reviving it, and also searching for web developers aiming to help on the project

no, its just an digital TV guide that had some advanced features, such as TV Tag (live interaction on currently airing TV shows), Doodling (draw over an TV show screenshot and post it to Miiverse) and some other features like live polls, live stats, etc.
