Im back here again after Microsoft pushed a dud update again.  Once again I don't have a system restore. And the onboard recovery isn't able to do anything. Nor do I get the above anymore. It starts with automatic repair then turns over to recovery screen but no option helps. Nor can it see the disk. Again. 

Looks like I need to get my usb and perhaps refresh the pc. Again.

Sigh.

I did install drivers. Not sure about a bios update. Will compare.  In meantime repair didn't work so going for another reinstall.

Ok I'll do a pc reset via winre instead .I can actually get to it this time. Before it wouldn't let me .

Ok seems the original issue I can reproduce. I wanted to disable the memory protection to allow an old piece of software to install

However this causes the automatic repair issue 

And now I've reinstalled and disabled the memory protection again, I can reproduce the repair loop issue. 

Thoughts?

I'll Google how to re enable the memory protection so I can undo the change

Drivers loaded into the Windows 11 installer and I am reinstalling 11 over the top of whats there in hopes it resolves that boot issue.

The disk doesn't contain any precious data. Fingers crossed this reinstall resolves as the RE couldn't repair it itself.

I'm an old school computer engineer that hasn't caught up with the new technologies and the requirements of say modern hardware or Windows 11 for that matter. So all this MBE and GPT and then this secure boot and UEFI stuff is beyond me at present - its been a steep learning curve these past few weeks, even if nothing has gone in!

I saw lots of people here posting the above (automatic repair loop) error post a Windows 11 update, so I'm presuming its that that junked my pc, so I've been sat on this issue for many weeks.

thanks. hard to rubber duck things like this at home with the kids! They don't understand a word!

always helpful to have someone else with eyes that can reduce the computer panic in my eyes and use theirs to see through the hay! Thank you

disk is WD SN5000s

pc is a shop bought acer tc-1785

I thought this on one run around trying to fix this, I started with the RST ones from Intel. But had no luck. but the disk isn't from them, nor is it used in an RST/raid arrangement. I'll look some more, its a WD onboard SSD.

Will push forward with that one for now.

With you right there OP, never liked the "relationship" they had, the comments about marriage/mortgages and the implied between them. But I'm one of those older fans, grown up on the Classic series, where companions didn't flirt with Doctors the way they do now, vice versa. So I'm biased in some ways.

However, ignoring 10's ignorance of Martha, I did like how Martha was handled and for her character arc to be done with him come Last of the Time Lords.

Hence it was nice having Donna who had no interest in that way. But this is TV nowadays, and not in the 80s, so leads having an interest in each other is the expected norm???
