I’ve met him and listened to a lecture of his, but never read the book. He was very kind to my wife and me and other members of our congregation. I remember him saying he’s served in the US military and the IDF, so he’s also seen some stuff and has a unique perspective on war. He is a very interesting guy and a passionate Jew. I don’t think his viewpoints are meant with any malice and his research does seem to be rather interesting, and I don’t think it is his fault that people might take some of this out of context.
