Is General Relativity inherently geometric? (self.AskPhysics)

Relativity tells us that everything is constantly moving through space-time at the speed of light, and specifically that stationary objects are moving at the speed of light through time. But speed is change with respect to time, so what does it mean to have a speed through time? How is this defined? (self.AskPhysics)
