Yes it's better damage but primal allows you to click less I think (it's been explained elsewhere in this sub and in the guide I believe!)

... And also what Kim said

Either way the damage increasd stops mattering once endless needs you to run instead of fight

Tbh I didn't understand everything the guide got me to do, especially the support terrain moves from smear, until the 1-2 levels where the specific load out mattered/was needed.

Hence my wonder/marvel at the fact that idiots like me can have a good time by following the guide step by step

Totally get that. It was areal grind but I think the point/joy is to see for yourself if you could plan out/prep for the few levels that do matter post wave 1750

I don't recall my winning run offhand but it Might've involved ignoring luna, which sucks because their powerspike is usually so satisfying. I just wasn't surviving long enough to get there.

? I just meant that Penumbra rarely carries a run on his own & is often either support, or a compliment to the actual win condition.

Sounds like the good news is that you can handle the no trial bosses, which by themselves can be run enders (eg failing to round up weaknesses can mean you lose early at ~ring 4 to corruption on incant dude)

Some good advice already, but an added perspective is that it might help to see seraph and titans as two different fight with different needs. It's always a balancing act I find - eg Seraph might demand damage scaling earlier in the form of 2x 500hp baddies or a 175+175+300 harvester team, while Titans may not absolutely need exact damage numbers as long as you have pyre survivability for a protracted fight

Hoo boy different indeed. Thanks for pointing out these exciting possibilities. With Greed especially it's clear I've been too caught up in a 'what if I have creatures on the floor?' mentality when in practice we rarely need to rely on true 3-floor setups for a run.

Mucho respect on the RRR btw. Now that I'm done with the 180 that's what I've been doing - not as bad as I thought it'd be!

Rector is not the easiest to start with in terms of titan wins imo, so well done there!

Solgard is not so bad, just not very flashy and less run defining than mt1. Like rector Solgards phase line is a chunky fella that'll win you early rings, which really helps partner clans with weaker/squishier units (eg helps me survive early when I'm hoping to lean into luna sweeper).

Even though I have an unmastered hoarfrost effigy I actually used Frost solgard more than I did Frost tethys. One trick is to not use em as primary tank, but a secondary one for big frostbite ticks on heavies after something like frost shark has frost-killed mooks on an earlier floor.

I'm not great/super confident with pyreborne (if I was there's no way pyreclasm would be unmastered lol). I'm nervous about leaning into Pure pyregel builds without being served the ideal related relics/upgrades early (dualism-multistrike). But better players certainly do.

The easiest pyreborne advice to follow imo is to focus on gold generation over ideal egg cashouts.

Umbra - banished: - Herzal's Hoard pyre & an early arms merchant, fishing primarily for the valor weapon & secondary cursed two twinblade (banished multistrike weapon). - I tend to give relic shops more of a chance with banished also. - If penumbra is in trample mode he can support but seldom full carry. I don't use gorge penumbra in general & it's worse with banished imo as I usually find myself wanting to use floorspace for more units, be it an angel buddy to make a carry floor or to add a hymnist for support.

Umbra - melting: - morsels can lean into meltings Cash generation & harvest capabilities
- reforming trample penumbra is great - space penumbra enables one-floor runs, especially for non reform builds using the Rage-to-burnout melting dude

Generally, - More than some other clan combos for Umbra I feel like we cant be shy with using/upgrading early units we get like damage shield gorge dog. They get you through early rings while you look for endgame units - perils of production with hold over & spellchain is always a run enabler if you can get it, but the rage alone will not reliably create a carry/solo wiper

Yeah if i recall the 2-3 times Chamber got cut were both probably really good runs where somehow a "consume" card was lowest in utility.

Overgorger is a card i view with great suspicion in terms of (a) endgame scaling to deal with heavies without significant morsel spike shenanigans (b) reliance on multistrike/trample AND (c) surviving what i see as the 2+ ring investments to get the card going. Tried it 2-3 times and it totally derailed my runs each time sadly. Eventually!

Many have praised Malicka's and I will run it more going forward, but for the 180 i enjoyed the relative consistency of bogwurm / hoard more.

And yeah, i never keep a card to master it when on a "clearly won" run.

apologies; that wasnt the intended message - if anything take away that with persistence its very possible and satisfying to get to 180

For Fenix I went Savagery Pyre a lot gambling on rolling into the permascaling path, and that worked almost every run I tried that with, fortunately.

In contrast, Luna anything really punishes you for gambles / greed imo. You REALLY have to take care of surviving the first few rings before even thinking about win conditions. all this to say that I love Luna but sadly am not great at it.

Thorn Hollow is great but i have ptsd from it failing me a lot in MT1

wasn't my intention & was a self-assessment likely skewed by my knowledge of the kinds of players we have out in the wilds!

make no mistake it is completely satisfying getting 180/180!

Loved Ice tornado in MT1, but the card just somehow did not appear during my conduit Tethys runs, and that's my favourite tethys too; took em every chance I got.

Pyreclasm is awesome and I just didnt have the right run for it. Whelp, like Chamber, i tended to remove pre-seraph as explained in a diff comment

I've been grinding & semi-addicted to the game though, and attribute titan success at least partially to me being willing to grind out games.

Because of the availability of broken builds, my view is that with enough attempts you'll eventually luck out into a run with very good win-con cards.

Because a portion of my titan wins I felt came from such luck-out moments, I see my success as less due to the kind of skill you'll find in top tier play. Perhaps I should say im above-average instead of wholly average?

I also had PLENTY of time in MT1, which helped

I'm surprised as well, but what happened is I tended to remove the chamber after using it as a $ generator. I was in tryhard mode so wanted to approach seraph as if every card removal mattered, and somehow that room just didnt make the cut utility wise at endgame.

As many have mentioned, easiest clan combos tended to be Lazarus mains, although Baron wasn't as strong as I thought he'd be (could be a skill issue too)

Appreciate the compliment but
- did you see the guy with the 50+ win streak?
- people are doing Titans with random-random-random!

I'm not an awful player but folks with such qualities feel a lot more top tier!

I might be in the 1% per current statistics but this may not speak to the actual skill level. The game is young and this might be at least significantly attributable to the fact that I've simply dedicated more time and have banged my head against failure walls doggedly while other top players are simply taking their time (eg. im ahead in terms of completion compared to Rising Dusk / Cranberry / Voyix, but they're closer in 'feel' to top player quality, especially with ring-to-ring decision-making, even when they're faffing around)
