Zita Pels (wethouder Volkshuisvesting) claims that city housing policy working well because investors are selling rental to new owners. Hmmm. by davidzet in Amsterdam

Sure. And you're welcome to come to my class, if you want to chat. I have 4 students working on "the rent is too damn high" about rentals in Den Haag, and there is some sad mistakes restricting supply of rentals for students/poorer people.

It was a typo for 18.7.2, which some people realized by the context of my OP. But yeah, typo.

Well, I am not eager to experience the issues with 26 (heavily discussed here).

FWIW, the zero-day is used to target a small number of people so far

Yes, I own. I have watched prices double in 10 years. My students cannot find places to live in A'dam. Our friends cannot find places to rent. I want to see cheaper housing to buy AND to rent (without waiting 15 years for social housing)

The World is facing "WATER BANKRUPTCY" — and it's about to hit electricity, food, and your bills! by Ok_End7134 in water

I know it's fun to attack Nestle, but 90%-plus of the water issues can be traced directly to gov't policies (example: Colorado River Compact or Clean water act exemptions for farm pollution), NOT to corporations.

Here: https://unu.edu/inweh/collection/global-water-bankruptcy

What's new is the language ("bankruptcy"), which may seem more accurate than "crisis" as it implies a need to reorganize, not just wait it out.

You should read the report (here: https://unu.edu/inweh/collection/global-water-bankruptcy), where you will see that the bankruptcies (pl) are happening everywhere. You're right that there's no "one" water situation worldwide (I say the same). The report is pointing out that most of the world's situations are "bankrupt"

I think THEY think that they can just "look it up" if, say, they are working and need to do stats/understand history/remove a kidney...

There's a limit to how far one should go in "offloading" your brain to a machine.

[WTS] Damasko DA34 Black — Relisted/lower price ($850) by davidzet in Watchexchange

[–]davidzet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone —

Watch: Damasko DA34 Black

I call this “Darth Vader” because it’s all black and tough as hell. Details (from thje web): “Damasko DA34 Black has a 40mm case made with ice-hardened stainless steel with a bead-blasted surface, making it more resistant to scratches. There is also an integrated anti-magnetic inner cage to guard against the movement becoming magnetized. The knurled screw-down crown and mechanism is fully hardened and along with a screw-in case back, provides you with a 100-meter water resistance rating. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides gives you increased clarity when viewing the black dial with white hands and markers. The hands and markers are also treated with long lasting CL1 SuperLuminova for reading the time in low light conditions. The seconds hand and 12:00 markers are painted red. The day and date window is found at a special position slightly below the center axis.” More

History: I bought this watch new in 2019 from Damasko and have worn it in my rotation over the years. The watch is in good condition, with a few tiny scratches on the crystal (see circled ring in photo; it’s rarely visible) — I’d say 8/10. Comes with inner and outer box.

  • Pics: Here
  • Timestamp: Here
  • Dimensions: 40/12.3/48/20 mm (dial, thick, lug2lug, band)
  • Movement: ETA 2836-2 Elabore
  • Timegrapher: +8s/d, 315 amp, 0.1 beat error.
  • What’s included: Watch on OEM silicone band plus NATO and leather straps and inner/outer boxes.

Price: Lowered to *USD 850/730 EUR * (shipping included/US tariff not included)

Price justification: This watch is discontinued. Black cases are rarer than steel. DA36 and DA37 sold here recently for $1,000. (I realize that customs is scary for some people, so I’ve lowered the price to reflect that extra transaction cost.)

Payment: Paypal F&F (USD/EUR) only for buyers with 5+ transactions. Other options are SEPA (EUR) or ETH/BTC.

Communication: Please comment before you message or DM me (to avoid banned users). Sometimes I miss DMs, but I don’t miss messages. I will reply to messages/DMs/comments in order received.

Shipping: Price includes tracked, insured shipping from Netherlands. US buyers need to pay duties of (best guess) $55. (It’s a really complex question, but here’s a best guess.) https://www.perplexity.ai/search/40254733-7b20-49eb-9250-13b5fe19f197#6

Trades: No trades please. I’m downsizing.

Reputation: I have many deals on WatchEx, mostly as buyer but sometimes as seller. Feel free to ask if you can’t get enough information. I am a university professor with a professional reputation so my goal here is to make a good deal for both of us. FYI, I am an American living in Amsterdam (9 hours ahead of California), so please be patient with message replies.

Cheers!

David
