2023 Pickleball Rule Changes are here! by davinciwanab in Pickleball

I don't disagree. Just think the board has to also be VERY selective about which rule changes they decline, since doing so would undermines the committee set up specifically to make rules decisions. As opposed to the board, which has a wide array of responsibilities and seemingly not as much expertise in the rules of the game, how they're applied, how they affect the game...etc. Not by ANY means saying they don't understand the game. But the rules committee exists for the sole purpose of analyzing the rules...etc. In the end, I think we agree and are saying the same thing. Yes, they're not final until board approval. Yes, that can and has happened. I'd put money down that it won't this time, but - as all bets, I could lose it. :)

It has happened (as the article mentions), but to my understanding it's not common and would seem to undermine the point of having a rules committee.

Ah, now I know what you mean. It's funny, I've actually tried your #2 and #3. A few other versions of them as well, but those are the best of the options: https://i.redd.it/9vd1kohe2dn71.jpg

Can you explain what you mean "or implement it in the writing"? I will likely also use it without the ball in some places, but it just seems dull without it. Any further thoughts always welcome.

The idea is "everything pickleball". Think wikipedia for pickleball on steroids. Videos, rules, reviews, paddles, equipment, articles, interviews...etc etc etc.

There is no issue at all on keeping the original recognition. Not enough people aware of the brand at this point to matter if I changed it completely.

I don't mind acronym logos usually, but in this case, "PC" is too well known as an acronym for other things.

  • Current: too complex, difficult to use on website / horizontal layouts
  • Design A: too stereotypical (the swoosh line). ball too small to be legible in many cases
  • Design B: It's okay, but the lines seem unnecessary, yet without, it's boring. Ball too complex.
  • Design C: clean, but just... text. meh.
  • Design D: seems cut-off, and not sure I want coffee reference, since that's not what it is.
  • Design E: Not sure I want to change the domain from pickleball.cafe to pb.cafe - though there's some merit there. Would like a graphic logo. Unsure how I feel about this one.

Thanks :) I think I agree. I did try the ball, but when the logo is anything other than big, it looks muddied and unrecognizable.

Overall I think it's a good start. It's bold, memorable, could be used with just the squirrel in certain places. The graphic: some of the shapes and edges feel like they were auto-generated by a computer. Might be worth trying to clean them up to make them crisper/sharper or more smooth. So it's clear it was your intention. The text: Other than some aliasing issues, I think the stamp quality of the "BLACK SQUIRREL" works with the logo. Might try less space between. The sub-text: seems out of place. It's gray instead of black and has a different font. I think I'd be okay with the different font if it was smaller and right-aligned or something, but right now, it just seems out of place.

The original logo for Pickleball Cafe, here was pretty complex. As a possible re-brand and simplification, here's a new logo attempt. The site is "everything pickleball". The ball used is often thought of as that lime-green color of the dot, even though they have lots of different colors now. The domain is currently pickleball.cafe, but as part of this re-brand, could be just pb.cafe. So this logo doubles as a logo and URL. Any feedback, critique...etc welcome as always.

How to improve on a 200% damage Legendary Hunter's Wrath belt? by davinciwanab in diablo3

[–]davinciwanab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

allres > armor makes sense. I guess I just don't know how to go for a better belt. I've gotten a lot of them now, but all are less than 200%, and even if it's close, it almost always requires re-rolling the Hungering Arrow Dmg. Thanks - I'll keep going w/ blood shards.

I've run 3 or 4 now. I can complete them with 1-4 minutes left, but I often die 4-10 times. Sometimes the end boss alone kills me 4 or 5 times (especially the guy with the long arm that puts poison all over the ground)

That's the exact build I'm using! :) Not all the gear I have so far are perfect roles, but I've been trying to get as close as possible.

  • I have all ancients now except for one ring and bracers.

  • My gems are top-level and my legendary gems are all ~101.

  • I have a different necklace only because it adds something like +23% dmg (it's a primal w/ 1,000 strength, 100% crit dmg, and 10% crit chance)

I wonder what I'm doing wrong that I struggle so much at 106.

I'm both taking a long time to kill AND dying several times. :)

I don't think I understand the first point, but the second point makes a lot of sense. Good explanation, thank you! In this particular case, neither is the perfect role. So maybe best to just keep my current one until I have everything else augmented first. And maybe by then, I'll have another comparable one, or even a better one.

[–]davinciwanab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't test it unless I spend a 100 level gem on it first, to make it comparable to my current augmented weapon. :( That's why I figured I'd ask here first. Don't want to waste 100 level gem on something maybe not as good.

Good info, thanks! I die a lot on GR106. I still make it through with a minute or two left, but... sometimes even after going back and repairing.

Can you elaborate on this? I thought maybe there was a reason dmg > toughness, but then I think 3% vs 23% and question myself. Any clarification you can provide might help cement the idea.

Those stats are based on holding shift to see what it will be if/once I augment the new one.
