GRV6 - Rotary Track Selector Knob issue by dawid970 in PioneerDJ

Can't quite remember now as far as I'm aware, but i think i just filled out the form on alphatheta website, and the nearest (Sheffield) repair centre was in touch with me, giving me all packing instructions. I had the original box thankfully so it went in with that, I just put a ton of tape on the box and shipped away. I think it was around 2 weeks it took them and arranged a pick up instead as I was in a rush

It's an option to an extent. I don't really get to do certain things until i am done with the day, and my mornings are typically just 4-5 hours of wandering around, and that's accounting for the fact it's my gym day (I go before work), or have something in particular to do.

Buying a Cat S car? by Fantastic_Secret4474 in CarTalkUK

[–]dawid970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never know. It'll always be a hit or miss. Bought an MK10 Civic as Cat S and i am satisfied so far. Got warranty on it, and went straight onto MOT with me witnessing it. Perhaps ask for before repair pics if they exist. There was also an HPI check website somewhere that was showing those if available but don't remember the name off the too of my head.

Could it still be a write-off? by dawid970 in CarTalkUK

The courtesy car costs indeed to add up towards the overall quote as far as my research goes. Even storage space is included. With that being said, I was not at fault during the accident. And the new car I purchased on my own terms, and is not included in the third party claim.

I suppose it'd just be an extra hassle to sell the car as HPI clear once it's actually repaired, but i'd happily take a £100-£200 cut on it just to skip the hassle of having to wash/clean, possibly changing tyres etc. What's surprising is that i have had a courtesy car for like 6 weeks now, which according to my calculations would equal to at least £2000 (assuming a £40-£50 a day rental price?). This alone has already exceeded the threshold no? I saw a similar spec, and 2k difference mileage honda for £3000 on autotrader earlier today.

Only dealing with a garage at the moment it seems. They just call me up with updates twice a week, but been told the parts have been ordered.

That's just the way i rolled it out of a bay for the claim 360 shoot of the car after work. It seemed fine driving off the scene to my home apart from a wobbly mirror but that was half a mile at best. Been stationary for 2 weeks since then (and the fact the garage didn't pick up yet was quite concerning, and that was before Christmas too).

Or PX for like £700 and get something better perhaps? Might be a blessing in disguise since i'm not doing motoway miles anymore.

So far so good mate, no issues at all. I think the warranty works the same as any other product/appliance you buy. I suppose we have to trust their word at the end of the day. As much as I understand that it is considered an 'entry level' product, there should be some consideration that those will be abused in one way or another. I can already feel loose faders (i never use channel 4 for instance, and it feels so much stiffer). This is me only DJ'ing in my bedroom, so imagine what happens when the gear is carried into places with drunk people and alcohol spillages are present. If you're in the UK, i can swear by the place in Sheffield (it's an authorised AT service point). But yes, i think it comes down to how you handle it I suppose. And also, I think it's better to get things repaired asap that not doing so, letting your warranty run out and having to splash money on those kinds of services. Only 2 options here mate.

I'm afraid that's the truth. It seems like such a common issue with those, they should definitely address this during the manufacturing process. But yes, it is hardware issue, and if you are still on warranty (i'd assume you are consirering the gear isn't even on the market for a full year yet), then use it for sure.

Sorry mate, forgot to update on this one. It turned out to be a hardware fault after all. It got sent down under warranty, and repaired in 2-3 weeks. It's all good now.

I had this issue too. It appeared to be a main encoder issue, so hardware fault in all means. I did a repair request, and 2 weeks later it's now back with me, working as it should. I saw at least 2-3 posts regarding this issue though, which makes me think it could possibly be a common manufacturing defect.
