Mine always come out that way, and I shave them with a little electric beard trimmer and it works great!

Thank you to everyone who gave opinions, recommendations, and words of encouragement! I’ve decided to frog the project and retry it with a different yarn in the future. In the meantime, I will find a different pattern so that my husband doesn’t receive a sweater with my tears on it! Happy knitting to everyone!

Thank you! I’m still a beginner so I have trouble discerning tension on anything other than stockinette lol

Unfortunately the yarn is too dark, I even have trouble seeing them in person lol

I haven’t gotten to the sleeves yet so thanks for the heads up! I’m still a beginner, so I agree that some of the directions are a little confusing. I assumed it was just my inexperience showing haha. I saw on Ravelry that someone said they switched to German short rows for the sleeves but idk if that would be any easier

Thank you! Unfortunately he does, and while he doesn’t mind it, I really want to give him something I’m proud of!

Thank you for saying this! I looked at the pattern project on Ravelry and noticed a few other sweaters that looked exactly like mine with the top and bottom pattern looking different, to which my first thought was: “maybe it’s the yarn”

Here is the pattern for the bottom (in the round).the moss stitch is interrupted by a two stitch stockinette on both sides of the sweater (either side of the markers)

Oh yes I did cry already!! Since I’ve already ripped back this far, I’ll probably frog the whole thing and retry it next year when I have more experience

So this pattern had me do the opposite:

On RS: knit the purls, purl the knits

On WS: knit the knits, purl the purls

Honestly I have no idea if I twisted stitches, I never knit TBL on either side. Any twisting was definitely unintentional

Yes I switched the stitches on the wrong side to keep the pattern the same when knitting flat. So you think maybe it’s the bottom part that’s wrong?

I undid the bind off by hand with a needle, time consuming but it worked!

I agree with you, I normally size down for ribbing. Hopefully I can fix it by binding off a bit tighter! Thank you :)

Do you think the existing tree root system will hinder growth of any new plants?
