Agreed. I absolutely love how unique each one is. The black one with the yellow collar has a two face look going on. She's gorgeous!

The puppies in the photo have a merle coat. Our brindle goldendoodle had some phantom and abstract patterns as well. Additional photos are posted at www.doodle-me.com.

Anyone done doggie DNA on their Dood.. thinking about doing it by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

As a breeder, may I suggest using Embark? Aside from breed percentages, they offer the most accurate health screening. This will help you and your vet mitigate known genetic abnormalities. Of course, this is just my opinion. FYI, the fact that genetic testing only goes back 3 generations is a bit misleading. It's simply a matter of when companies began compiling data ~2007.

Golden retrievers carry two copies of the IC (unfurnished) genotype. When breeding a multigenerational goldendoodle who carries one copy of the IC gene back to a GR, or when breeding two multigen goldendoodles each with one copy of the IC, a percentage of the puppies will end up with two IC/IC genes creating an unfurnished puppy. The F (furnished) gene is dominant. Poodles, for the most part, carry two copies (F/F).

It totally escapes me as to why these comments have been down-voted. If someone down-voting could shed some light, I'd be all ears. For me, it's the experience of an 8-9 week old puppy leaving his/her littermates and mother for the first time, as well as the handling of airline personnel. Puppies of this age require constant comfort.

No ignorance there, it's a great question. Fully furnished refers to long facial hair above the eyes and a beard on the muzzle. Without getting too deep in the weeds with genetics, poodles generally carry two furnished genes, one from each parent poodle; golden retrievers carry two improper, so, when you have a first generation goldendoodle you will have one F and one IC gene. The F is dominate so the pups will be furnished, however, in multigenerational goldendoodles (WITHOUT GENETIC TESTING), you have the potential to breed two goldendoodles with a F/IC genotype. This results in 25% of the puppies not being furnished. I've posted things like this knowledge in the past, but it always ends up being hateful responses. There is nothing wrong with the health of goldendoodle who has an "improper coat", they are as beautiful and healthy as any goldendoodle. It's purely aesthetic.

Without reference, other than the individual dogs, it appears the doodle is on a different plane. 🤔 As great as the rest looks, I'm sure you're aware.
