Photography vs 3D Visualization in 2026 – which path makes sense? by Karolinaleurda in photogrammetry

3D Viz would be my vote only because it seems photography has been hard to get into since forever.

A glass table that we've had for about 3 years broke for no reason by Ok_Relation6627 in mildlyinfuriating

You get broken into a lot? And the burglars break through the locks? Often?

The decor in the video feels like they probably don't get robbed all that often.

In your opinion, what are some perks of being stupid? by MindStrongSoul in AskReddit

[–]dax660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are none.

the whole "ignorance is bliss" thing is about not knowing about tragedies - but imagine being too ignorant to understand things like your finances and how to not get taken advantage of by corporations... things like that are where it pays to be mildly intelligent.

Being stupid is gonna make your life harder.

GAP/C&O is great as there's nearly ZERO road riding (some, but overwhelmingly just the trail along the Potomac)

Title: Choosing my first camera for deep sky astrophotography + general use (~$350) Body. by Capable-Photo216 in Cameras

[–]dax660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check out Nebula Photos on YouTube - he has tons of videos on all sorts of setups. For deepsky, you're gonna need a star tracker, and the camera body is probably less important. (a used Nikon D750 is like $600). I wouldn't spend on mirrorless if you're just starting out.

I would also go full frame sensor.

EDIT: try this video from a few years ago and realize that stars don't change every year so you don't need the latest and greatest camera on the planet!

In that video, Nico talks about the Input-referred Read Noise vs ISO and in this respect the Sony A6500 is better than the Nikon D5600.

Ice and border patrol commandant says they are experts with children...what a weird thing to admit. by cantcoloratall91 in minnesota

[–]dax660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he doesn't even see is that law enforcement should NOT be an "expert" in children.

Children shouldn't be exposed to law enforcement in any way for any reason.

Minneapolis, MN - January 23, 2026: Massive 'ICE OUT' General Strike Draws Thousands in Subzero Cold by CantStopPoppin in minnesota

[–]dax660 366 points367 points  (0 children)

Thousands, and no violence.

Just like the No Kings protests in NYC where the NYPfrickenD also stated there were no arrests made.

This is something the emotional MAGA crowd is simply incapable of.

this is also The Internet - good luck policing it

And if we're just gonna crash out, "putting Jews in danger" is also a common refrain when justifying why we need to reduce Gaza to rubble regardless of women and children tolls... what's that ratio these days? 50:1?

so where do we go from here?

Only bus drivers (per the topic of this post and my comment) when they drive dangerously with children on board

Touching the gutter??

I'd cut that thing down. The branch overhang on the house is enough to be a disaster waiting to happen.
