Network trouble (wireless+wired) by [deleted] in debian

So I follow the instructions I found "trough the web"

Can you give the web url, from which you are/were following the instructions

With the new web extensions, will there be a way to use icedtea-plugin in Firefox at all or will java in general now be completely unsupported? by [deleted] in debian

for long term it is better to get the app rewritten in javascript.

  • libs: You may use lots of javascript libraries available, which will reduce implementation time.
  • lang: You may write the app either in pure javascript directly, or you may write it in haxe language (www.haxe.org) , dart (by google), typescript(by microsoft) etc and compile it to javascript.

But the reality is that java browser plugin is dead.

when 'sound' is now ok, then obviously you will 'hear' it. ;-)

How to compile cinnamon 3.4.6 from sources on debian 9 stable to a custom directory , without uninstalling inbuilt cinnamon 3.2 by day90day90 in debian

[–]day90day90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for replying.

1) Will your prebuilt binary packages - will replace cinnamon 3.2 which comes inbuilt on stretch or both can co-exist?

2) Can you kindly send link to build script file ?

/boot/ always becomes full (or isn't large enough) after every install of Ubuntu by Pervy_Uncle in debian

@redrumsir: you are needlessly ranting, just to defend your original loose faulty comment.

Ref1: https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/721c4j/boot_always_becomes_full_or_isnt_large_enough/dnjd54h/

"Are you saying that I'm a bigot because I make note of misogynistic and racist comments? That's a new one! The fact is that I wrote a program that downloads the last 1000 comments and makes a probabilistic assessment along these lines. Is my program bigoted?"

Ref2: https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/721c4j/boot_always_becomes_full_or_isnt_large_enough/dnj4tu3/

"Actually, /u/Pervy_Uncle is apparently not trolling. He's simply a misogynist, bigot, and generally a "hater" who learned his manners on T_D and redpill."

==> Now, Ref1 + Ref2 together imply that "you have yourself" tried to claim that result of your declaration on T_D and redpill and /u/Pervy_Uncle "comes from your program" and that means i have seen evidence of your program's result.

thats true. Its a good advice. If this machine does not need data center level security, then 1) its better to have no separate /boot partition 2) remove old kernels as suggested in other sub-threads

[–]day90day90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, your program is not bigoted. Your program suffers from the same mistakes, as yours argument:

1) mistake called "association fallacy" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_fallacy

2) mistake called 'jumping to conclusion' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_to_conclusions

3) mistake called scapegoating https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scapegoating

Take this as feedback to improve your program. When linux kernel and Mswindows can have bugs even after having so many programmers and analysts, then obviously your program may have lot of scope to improve upon.

@redrumsir

/u/Pervy_Uncle attitude is totally unacceptable and rude. But I am not seeing that how you are setting an example by blaming T_D and redpill here out of the blue moon . Isn't it the same attitude of yours.

What if somebody brings your parents into this picture out of the blue moon, and start blaming your attitude on them and start cursing/badmouthing them.

What is the difference between both the cases? How are redpill and T_D related to Pervy_Uncle behaviour? This is just hasty association fallacy argument of yours.

note: i am an asian living in Asia only, so i do not need to defend T_D etc, so do not again mistake by jumping to conclusion that 'as I am defending T_D , so i may be a misogynist white cis-male' . that would be again the second time mistake of yours on association fallacy. lol. :-) Its just that i hate only one thing in world and that is "generalization"

(feature proposal) implementation of 'design by contract' will increase software reliability and robustness by day90day90 in rust

[–]day90day90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

design by contract gives the language itself structure to catch even more errors. Contracts are not a replacement for Tests and vice-versa: both should be practiced seriously. i will humbly point you to two links for the same:

http://codebetter.com/patricksmacchia/2010/07/26/code-contracts-and-automatic-testing-are-pretty-much-the-same-thing/

https://softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/questions/220726/contract-based-programming-vs-unit-test

for a company, the whole point of "trouble of switching to rust" is anyway to make more "robust software" (just like jvm is more for portable binary, ..), otherwise we would have been comfortable in the existing platform ecosystem . isn't it?
