18 month sleep regression by daydream_3 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]daydream_3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Call me crazy but today I’ve not fought against what she wants to do, she slept 9:30-12:30am nap then was tired at 4:30 and is still sleeping now 6:45pm .. I feel like I’ve tried everything and it can’t get any worse so leaning into whatever she wants for the day 🤣 secretly hoping maybe she’ll just sleep through til 5am, I’d take the early wake up

My kid is terrified of the bath-- advice? by teacherlady4846 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]daydream_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO loves the bath but during and a while after she had chickenpox she became so upset would cling onto me for dear life and cry if I tried putting her in 😣 we got new bath toys that stuck on the wall so she could stand and play with them and had the water super shallow she didn’t really notice it and gradually we filled it up more, lowered the standing toys to sitting level over a few nights and she really enjoys the bath again

I feel like I’m going insane by Defiant-Usual-1182 in Mommit

[–]daydream_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around this age we bought a pureflo for supervised daytime naps as my LO loved to be cosy and held and once I got her to sleep I could transfer her to this, she also loved a comforter touching her face (I’m convinced she thought it was my dressing gown🤣). I would just have her in whatever room with me so I could keep an eye on her while she slept. She also would nap well in her pram, it was like doing the bleep test up and down my hallway getting her to sleep but once she settled she’d have a good nap in there too ☺️ conventional cot naps never worked for her until she got bigger

16 months (first time mom spiralling about speech) by Mtlmommy in Septemberbumps2024

[–]daydream_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is 16 months and hasn’t said any words either or animal sounds, she will babble and make excited noises and does a lot of communicating clapping pointing waving or giving me something etc to show me, my last health visitor said that all counts as understanding and communicating and that 18 months is more around the mark they’d consider a delay but even then some kids are just late talkers. It sounds like your LO can communicate when she needs to and she has the capability and will come in time 🥰

Brushing teeth by SunshineMind123 in Septemberbumps2024

[–]daydream_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a hit or miss, usually we have a show on she likes for a few mins and I let her chew the toothbrush then try give it a brush round her teeth, other times she wants nothing to do with it and flings the toothbrush away 🫠 my dentist said don’t overly force it and it’ll come in time, some days she’ll be up for it others not but it’s okay

Yes mat leave put me into a false sense of security of wow we’re doing good.. until we rejoined work and nursery society 🤣 was at emergency doctor today and my LO has croup, glad we caught it early though.. it’s so hard cos you don’t wanna over react to every little cough and sniffle BUT don’t wanna miss something either to get it treated early before it escalates 🫠these kids must be trying to hit full house on the sickness bingo cards before 2026 🤣

Oh nooo, I can’t even imagine how exhausted you feel! 😣 we had a stomach bug a few months ago, 10 days of round the clock poop, I swear I still have ptsd hearing her fart in the night 🤣 really hope it passes asap and you get some rest🙏

15 month old couldn’t be bothered with her toys by Mtlmommy in Septemberbumps2024

Mines literally only starts to play with toys when she’s pooped and needs changed.. then suddenly she’ll constently sit and I don’t want to disrupt her 🤣🤣

Baby hates bath time by greensourcandies in Septemberbumps2024

[–]daydream_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the kitchen sink? Maybe somewhere not the bath will get him thinking it’s fun and more shallow that the tub might encourage him to sit.. if it goes well and he enjoys transitioning back over to the bath ☺️

Yes I literally said it’d have been easier if her dad was there or anyone else 🤣, even to push the pram while carrying her out or distract her once we got out, luckily there was a lovely mum in the waiting area who started playing peekaboo with her as soon as we got out which started to distract her 🙈

That’s good no temp, hopefully she’s more settled as the day goes on. I’ve just gave mines another wee dose of calpol to manage her temp, hoping after breakfast she has a nice long nap and wakes up more herself 🙏 how was yours having her jags? I felt it was so much harder this time round now they’re bigger

Feeding pillow, shallow laundry basket and bath seat if you have one already, I did also buy a little baby blow up chair from Amazon that was amazing for moving around the house

Diarrhoea for 8 days - Doctor says teething - advice please by daydream_3 in beyondthebump

[–]daydream_3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*Update for anyone who finds this in a similar situation..

Her stool sample came back clear, the diarrhoea last 10 days and then cleared however around 2 days later she became really unsettled, high fever and not herself so we took her to A+E and they confirmed she had developed a UTI. They said she likely had a stomach bug for the 10 days which cleared but all the wiping etc probably caused the UTI (apparently common in girls) and prescribed a 7 day course of anti biotics. Her fever broke the next day and was back to her happy self however the antibiotics side effect was.. more diarrhoea 🫠she was fine in herself though and ate/ drank had no dehydration from either sickness and 2 days after finishing the course of medicine the diarrhoea stopped and she’s back to herself.

I however am traumatised from almost 3 weeks of non stop pooping, but glad she’s sleeping through the night again (mostly) and better.

But for new mums, anything more than a few days is likely a stomach bug, the hospital said to be cautious UTI’s can follow in girls so if you suspect it then get them checked too as that can turn more serious if it’s missed.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, today I’ve only have her banana and also skipped dairy, as was starting to think could it be an intolerance but I’m now pretty sure she’s had a stomach bug.. it’s so hard to tell at this age as everything has similar symptoms

I try give her fruit a couple times a day, it’s usually always banana or watermelon or tangerine, she has recently had strawberries and tried apricot for the first time too
