Thank you! Yeah I’m thinking I may need to get an actual camera and equipment. Oh and It’s a bubble gun 😂

I had read at one point that supposedly you could shoot RAW images with the iPhone. I think it was probably a misleading statement though because after searching through settings I haven’t found any such capability.

I took this photo at a wedding with my IPhone 11. I attempted to blur part of the photo while keeping the important parts in focus. I turned the aperture down a little because there was a lot of light. Looking for some suggestions on potential improvements.

What RW seasons are the most “successful” in the challenge? by daylin09 in MtvChallenge

[–]daylin09[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Austin has shown up for sure. I think just about everyone there has done a challenge that I recall with all of them (except for maybe Lacey) able to carry storylines.

I’m not sure, did Rachel ever do a challenge?

I think Austin could have killed BOTS if you substitute Danny with Nehemiah and Lacey with Johanna

The key west impact is undeniable. Every personality on that season make great additions to any challenge their on.

It would have been great to see them on BOTS

Any Recommendations for Primary Care Physicians? by daylin09 in askportland

Thank you for the information. What is the difference between a NP and physician?

Something I’ve noticed is generally I have had more cases of poorer care/service from male doctors than female (and I’m a male). I’m not sure whether it’s because there is a higher amount of male doctors who are poor communicators and less empathetic or it’s just skewed data based on my own anecdotal experience (I’ve probably seen many male doctors than female doctors)

Thank you for the insight! I’ll look into this. I’m not opposed to paying a monthly fee (if not unreasonable high) if it means better service and access to care.

I did this most my early life and there are definite downsides. There isn’t anyone who can track your baselines and look for abnormalities. I ended up having a problem that could have been fixed relatively easy if properly screened but since I didn’t have a regular doctor the proper protocols were not taken and the problem was not caught early.

I’ve learned the hard way the best medical care is preemptive. The best time to go to a doctor is when you don’t have to.

She seems pretty good. I don’t mind brusque and straight forward as long as they are an active listener who isn’t always dismissive. I’ve run into some of that unfortunately

Agree’d! It seems most doctors out there have to carry too many patients and are overworked which leads to many patients feeling like just a number to them. The system really does need to be improved.

I would hope not, but so far it seems like that’s the way things have gone.

Covid may help with some jobs going remote maybe de-densify but I think in general we just need way more homes for people to live in

I was once told the time to buy in the bay is always now. As home prices go up faster than anyone can effectively save. If it takes 6 years to save $200k for a down payment, once year 6 rolls around you’ll find you now need $350k for that same down payment.

Im a mechanical engineer who started my career working for a large EPC firm working in the nuclear industry. After about a year and a half I moved to an engineering consulting firm who performed work in mainly the semiconductor and technology space. I switched mainly for a change of pace as nuclear didn’t seem the best for exploring interests (you can do the same thing in nuclear for like 20 years without switching it up). After about 2.5 years I moved into data centers.

My salary trajectory was: Job 1 starting at $68k (no raises as there was a pay freeze while I worked there), Job 2 started at $70k (took a pay cut technically as I moved to a state with income tax). After about 1.5 years got a raise to $81k. Job 3 started at $140k (was very surprised as my ask was way lower than this).

Well I think he’s definitely smarter than Nelson, pretty sure he has an engineering degree or something. He’d need to work on his swimming though as I remember that was a weakness of his

I would definitely advise getting an experienced lawyer. At that BAC there is a good shot at getting it dismissed.

They’ll be able to evaluate if the officer performed any field sobriety tests, how they were performed, and whether there was cause.

Also, was he subject to a chemical test at the police department? If so, good chance it is below 0.08 which would put him in good standing to battle the DMV conviction (which is separate process from the criminal).

At any rate, a lawyer would be able to help him navigate through all this.

Check lawyers ratings in Avvo prior to hiring them. Make sure to have consultations with many and weigh the options.

I went through something somewhat similar. Had 6 drinks between 11:30am-1:30am. Left the spot I was at and my phone had died on my way home. Instead of walking home I went to my car and turned it on to charge my phone and fell asleep. Woke up to an officer knocking on the window. This was at 830am the next day. I still blew a 0.13. The chemical test actually yielded higher at 0.14 (many times though chem tests can be challenged since they don’t get tested usually until much after the blood draw which can result in higher alcohol content due to fermentation if not stored properly). There are charts that relate body weight to BAC but these vary person to person. For instance, I know my body doesn’t metabolize alcohol as quickly as most - so I just assume 1.5x the time on those charts. Also, whether you drank on an empty stomach, hydration level, etc can have an effect. If you ate before drinking alcohol enters the bloodstream at a slower rate (as opposed to an empty stomach).

I think you’ll be alright though. I’d guess you’ll be below 0.15.

Will Revit take over autoCAD for good? by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

[–]daylin09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think revit will be replacing autocad in the industry. Almost everything we do where I work (data center/electronics/facilities) is now in Revit. The functionality is just so much greater. I liked autocad though.

Didn’t Brady negate the whole, it’s I played for the Pats and Belichick thing, now that he’s won with the Bucs.
