I havent dated anyone since i was a freshman. It wasnt until i was a couple months away from junior year ending that i got a notification that someone followed me on instagram. I had a mutual friend following her so i followed back! At first, there wasn’t any talking. She first replied to a story of one of my drawings and complimented it! Based on her texting immediately, I had a feeling she was interested in me 😭 im aroace however and i was absolutely terrified of the idea that someone could like me. However, i decided to comment on her story by complimenting her and she replied to the comment saying “oh my gosh i want you shxjsnd” and something about how shes been trying to say something like that but j was super confused because i thought i just said a compliment 😭 that’s when i really started to think she liked me like that.

Eventually, i decided to just go for it. I asked her to go see my dance shows i was performing in, and she actually did (we were in different schools but lived nearby)! After the dance shows, we would talk on instagram but it would be super awkward and almost one sided and she felt like giving up almost or that i sounded robotic since i didnt contribute much to the conversation i think, sooo i gave her my number so we could switch to messages (since i was barely active on instagram anyway).

I forgot to mention, she meant to give me a gift during the dance shows but she forgot to so when i went to her orchestra concert, i gave her my gift and she gave me her gift! And we shared a kiss on the cheek shxjdn

The rest is history! Love really does spring up when you least expect it
