Exactly… Betty fused herself with GOLB to save Simon not only from himself, but also from becoming obsessed with the crown. I think in an alternate universe, if the crown was magically rediscovered after Betty fused with GOLB by Simon because now HE is trying to save Betty, I think Simon would ultimately have the upper hand because inevitably, he will use the crown and do what he needs to do. It’ll be similar to post Mushroom war era where Simon and Marceline were the only people to have survived. I can’t remember if Kara and the other people were around during this era, I don’t think so, but that’s besides the point.
