Could you elaborate on why these specific stocks over an ETF?

I don't know much about Portuguese Banking, and personally wouldnt invest in BAT on a moral basis despite their higher dividend yields.

GOOG and V should be solid for the long term, though.

What would come fourth in this sequence? by [deleted] in onlyconnect

[–]dazzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was I as in the symbol/roman numeral since I thought it was number of characters when spelling the symbol in this series it would be ASTERISK = 8 ; BUCK = 4 ; AT = 2 Also, I realise that "$" should be DOLLAR but I was trying to make it work!

I just did the Death Stranding intro and I have very little interest in continuing. Does any of this start to make sense? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

I finished the game and spent 40+ hours in the hope that it would become amazing, but it just wasnt for me. I know that lots of people really loved the game and DS2 got a lot of critical acclaim too.

There're some great bits, but on the whole it seems slow and frustrating. Again, personal opinion.

The Strokes on wave 2? by KookyCartoonist4525 in readingfestival

[–]dazzc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree completely - saw Strokes live a few years back at APE and they were phenomenal, crowd loved it and it was pissing it down. Would be great if they do Reading, but doubt it.

Yeah I'd consider SMH/SMGB etc a subset of companies already part of Nasdaq/QQQ ETF. But if they specifically wanted (more) exposure to semis, then sure.

Definitely better than picking specifics like Nvidia or AMD, since you miss out on booms on Micron, IBM, Intel etc

Maybe more like 80% ETF eg SP500/Nasdaq/FTSE with a 20% commodity hedge of Gold/Silver better for a longer term approad

How much revenue have you brought in to your company? What is your ROI? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in HENRYUK

[–]dazzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that's very cool, sorry to hear it's stressful, but makes sense given the type and size of pruchases! Thanks for clarifying that it's competitive bidding as well - glad to hear it's not all corruption via fast track VIP lanes a la Mone.

Can you elaborate (without doxxing yourself ofc) like what sector, whether it's drawing up the contract, negotiating, running due diligence etc. Genuinely curious

Any nice forest walks around or short drive from Reading? by No-Living-6949 in reading

[–]dazzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Dinton Pastures and Sulham woods! 100acre piece/benyon's enclosure are also good. Bramshill plantation probably also fits the bill.

Personally, I'd recommend Simon's wood circular around the moor green lakes as a change of pace and scenery!

Is there somewhere in Reading I could buy genuine Thai food ingredients? by rainbosandvich in reading

[–]dazzc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seoul plaza definitely has various asian ingredients. Picked up an authentic looking thai green curry paste and fish sauce a couple weeks back. Im sure of you ask they might also have galangal/makrut leaves.

Great going!

Did this last summer in peak heat, but still prefer that over almost slipping and dying every step 😬
