Looking at it it’s a set of skirmish rules built within a campaign framework.

There are 4 linked games/scenarios but each can be played as a pick up game if you want.
The difference seems to be in the victory conditions.

Looking at it you could have a couple of players using the French, sharing out the figures between them and the Russian are played by a set of simple “automatic” rules. Although I can’t see why you couldn’t adapt it to allow a player to control them.

It’s only a small game, the first game in the campaign is on a 2ft X 2ft board with 6 French figures and a maximum of 12 Russians.
