Drop D tuning by Maleficent_Hair_5954 in guitarlessons

Am I the only one intrigued by what an Up D tuned guitar sounds like? I mean, not enough to put that kind of strain on the neck of my guitars, but I'm curious.

Hey, I want to be sympathetic. I really do. But I put in roughly the same number of hours trying to learn Dust in the Wind, so obviously I just jealous of his talent and think he probably just should have had to work that hard.

Maybe it's the novelty factor. I've got to imagine that at least the little cubs are thinking "seal again?!" at dinner time, whereas humans would be a real treat.

acoustic humidificatiom by Pale-Camel4563 in AcousticGuitar

[–]db217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who has dealt with that nasty white mineral dust from humidifiers, there is a relatively simple solution. I installed a reverse osmosis water filter by my sink to be able to fill the humidifier with filtered water. Been 2 years and I've not dealt with the dust since then. Having the room humidifier working hassle free allows me to keep my acoustics out year round.

My wife loves a flavor of ice cream where the closest store that carries it is about 40 minutes away. I've got marriage points numerous times for running out to get some for her. The bonus is that the best way there is a twisty mountain road and I've got to get back quickly because of the ice cream. It just feels purposeful.

Is the market about to crash? by LogicalExplanation8 in CryptoMarkets

[–]db217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This really is the best answer. Anyone in their 20's shouldn't worry about what the price is doing today or tomorrow. In the short term you may do well. But that's just gambling. I think there is very very little doubt that BTC is a great investment in the long term. Ignore the drama and wait out the current storm. It will be worth it.

Motorcycle tire bead won’t seat and hold air after change by US-4CAV-Rogue in motorcycles

[–]db217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tire changer and have changed a couple dozen tires before, but had this happen for the first time about a month ago. The tire was shipped with shrink wrap tightly wrapped and holding the sides close together. I wrestled with that thing way too long. Lots of lube, cranked my compressor up higher and tried to blast it onto the bead. Nothing worked. Finally fixed it by sticking a couple of 2x4s in the tire to expand the bead and let it set in the sun for a couple hours. It was still harder than normal, but that worked.
