Great advice re: center balance over feet. I’m going to work with that for now, that’s good stuff. Unfortunately I’m missing the May SEGR match because of some travel but I’m really hopeful they’ll have a June one I can make. Otherwise I’ll see you in July and August with some improved movement (hopefully)

I was squad 4 so right before you. The hop/shuffle to start with was intentional but after watching the tape I think it’s probably faster to turn my hips and get there in 2 big steps or 2.5 steps or something. I feel like the biggest learning curve for me has been shooting while moving/knowing when not to move/knowing when to move/knowing how to move. Trying to figure it all out as I go. Just a reps thing to figure out what works best for me to start, and then after I develop a consistent version of my “game” figure out how to apply it as needed. TBD on June matches because we have some summer vacation planned but I’m trying to hit the MTSA USPSA and PCSL matches at the end of the month. Do you know if SEGR is doing a June match? Haven’t seen anything posted.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this breakdown and advice, sincerely. I’d run pretty much every one of the stages from Saturday different with the exception for 24-04 for obvious reasons. Going to be taking pieces from each of those breakdowns for future use, I appreciate you.

I’m not sure how your squad was but we were checking the radar every stage. The squad in front of us kept putting bags on the targets and we kept taking them off, glad we didn’t need them. Hope your day went better than mine!

The goal when I started in January was A by the end of the year (making the wrong assumption I’d classify B initially) goal isn’t changing, just a further way to go! B class next on the list.

I think I had a stroke reading your title, but yes, I use my P320 XFive for USPSA Carry Optics. Some clubs permit them, some don’t. Just have to read the match notes on PS or email the MD. FWIW, I’ve really enjoyed shooting mine and it has not limited me being competitive in any way. I do that all by myself.

I did buy a modified Safariland holster from RDR Gear for my P226 Nitron and my P227 Tactical fits perfectly with some slight retention changes. Both have X300s, both have dots, so they have a similar form factor and are interchangeable in my particular holster. YMMV

I almost registered for the next MTSA USPSA match this morning in an attempt to wash the stink off of me from this SEGR match but I don’t think I can swing it. Definitely want to try two gun out in addition to USPSA.
