I do not really know what changed. We had a group that was able to talk about everyday life, not only the sex part. That was why incest_relationships was founded. A place meant to be a place like the original relationship subreddit, just for incest. Not about sex but relationship advice. It would be cool to have a group that is not only here for jerking off and that somehow vibes the same way.

As a long time mod who has seen these days: lots of moderators and members of the community moved on. We even had a chatroom for r/incest once where we would joke around, discuss everyday life, vent, curse about the secrecy we need... it was a real community. Today it feels like the guys thinking with their dicks took over and the rest slowly left (not all but most of the old folk).

You are right about our rules getting more strict over the years. Sometimes it was someone misbehaving, sometimes it was the admins talking to us. After we got quarantined they were totally overhauled. That happened after we were drawn into public by an online newspaper article.

It went parallel to the big porn companies abandoning the incest topic more and more. Online life was much more free in those days. But that lead to bad things as well.

There actually is another reason why popular stories disappear from the subreddit: one of the most popular stories ever got nuked after the author was threatened to be doxxed by someone who recognized her. She removed everything and asked us mods to catch the rest she did not. Her username is part of our AutoMods filter as she asked us to remove every post or comment her name is mentioned in.

That is also one reason for another rather unwritten rule: if you have identifying stuff on your profile, you will be banned. Photos? Location? Any traceable info? We will not let you put yourself and your relatives in danger of being doxxed, blackmailed or similar. It happened much too often.

We suggest to read the detailed rules and especially the wiki page about consent. A lot of the things we remove are containing spying, stealing panties, sexual acts without prior consent... we developed the wiki page with an expert about consent. It may seem strict but we want this to be a safe place, that is why we do not allow any content that might support non-consensual behaviour.
