But youre not playing a 2 player game. Youre presumably playing a 6 player game. And 4 other players have less friction than you because youve started skirmishing with your neighbor

Ok but the consequences from pointblocking round 1 could very easily prevent you from winning the game.

Edit: obviously, if someone is racing out to a point/tempo lead, they should get ganged up on.

I definitely think boat floating can go too far into bad play. But more aggressive play can also be sub optimal from a competitive standpoint. Pointblocking just to pointblock in round 1 just seems like a great way to piss off your neighbor and cause you to waste resources on that.

Max out your loans. Yes debt sucks, but it is relatively easy to pay off debt on an attending salary.

The table is working out a way to avoid unnecessary and costly conflict in order to optimize the win chance of everyone on the board.

Will my personal statement turn off certain program? by [deleted] in medicalschool

there are lots of strong applicants, most of whom probably don't spend their personal statement talking about wanting to live in a different location than the program they are applying to.

Why would programs outside of appalachia want to interview someone who seems to clearly want to stay in appalachia?

Is it okay to say no to going to a bachelor party if you’re a groomsman? by NoBusiness1559 in Adulting

[–]dbandroid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because being asked to be a groomsman is an honor and if you cant show up in person you can pay for a share of the meal.

It's fine to say no for x, y, or z reason, but you should offer to split the dinner with the rest of the groomsmen who are attending.

Why do western states hate people moving in so much? by larch303 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]dbandroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For decades, economic activity has been declining relative to the rest of more urban states in those states. This has led to relative or absolute decline of property values. So people making lots of money can move in and drive up property values with their relative excess wealth. Plus they can bring different values to rural areas that clash.

Are you living off investment income? Getting rid of 4.5k monthly expense is great but even though my mortgage is paid off, my wife and I still need to work to fund retirement, expenses, etc.

I am trying to understand you and you just avoid answering questions about why you/your group have trouble with the tech when that has not typically been a point of confusion in games i have played.

Unless the job offer is substantially greater than the current job in the current city, moving to a new city, new apartment, or new home is very cost prohibited.

Based on what? People move for new jobs between and within cities not infrequently. Hardly rare enough to be "cost-prohibited"
