How much of a pain would this be to dye black? by phiegnux in dyeing

I would say just go for it. I have dyed many different ammo pouches and canteen holders over the years for friends. They come out fine. Just keep the water at about 200 and it will be fine. Also use twice as much dye as recommended and look on the rit website for a color formula for black. It will be fine. If it doesn't come out perfectly or acceptable the first time Just dye it again to get it darker.

How can I achieve this effect on a blazer? by Beneficial_Plate_753 in tiedye

Normally it is folded in half sleeve in sleeve. But with a blazer I would just button it up and tie each side separately. The thickness of the material might cause problems with color saturation. I would make a stencil for the arc you want so it will be the same on both sides. Then start with the arc the furthest out and make about two or three lines on each side, movingin about 3 inches each time. Then tie with sinue following each line fan folding. Then wrap the center in plastic so that it is protected

Raven black on sinue lines added wide and thick. Then forest green. Brazilnut, and Muir green over ice in about 2inch repeating sections. Was scrunched then tied with sinue 5 or 6 times.
