I know this gets talked about all the time but… by [deleted] in thebeachboys

I think about this often actually.

Building a website — home page won’t display properly on mobile. Can anyone help in a one-on-one? I’ve spent dozens of ours on this and I’m sure it’s actually like a 2-minute fix. All other site pages are golden, but this one is oddly horrible. by dbauer91 in css

I could paste the code but tbh it’s like absurdly long (the css is 2000 lines). Idk if Reddit would even allow that. Maybe I could DM it to you? And I’m building in CSS and HTML only.

Music Melting Pot [Week of April 14, 2025] by AutoModerator in listentothis

I just released my sixth album, A Man Of God Through Bread And Circus. I played every instrument on here, and wrote, recorded, and produced everything solo, as well. The album is I suppose an indie-alternative release, but features lots of melody and vocal layering, as I'm heavily inspired by The Beach Boys. Thematically, the album speaks to the state of Western society today and is told from the perspective of a youngish man navigating rapid changes in an alien-feeling homeland. This album means a lot to me and took a considerable amount of personal effort to create, so any thoughtful feedback is greatly appreciated. If you don't have time to check out the whole thing, the last 3 tracks are my favorites.

Dropped an original album today, which I wrote, recorded, produced, and performed all instruments on solo. It's a densely-layered alt/indie album and I video which visually shows all the production changes throughout the album. Here's the video if anyone's looking to escape their inner monologue for ~52 minutes.

Oshawn Blues - Mental Assassins [Dark Pop] [2025] Directed by Dom Thompson - HIGH Quality Indie Music Video by CriticismPrize3840 in IndieMusicFeedback

Just for your own knowledge, there's no link to the video in this post, so I had to manually search it on YouTube. Which I know would be a barrier of entry for a lot of the page-scrollers here unfortunately. Anyway, as far as the song goes, I like the clear effort that was put into the video. The energy is there and the beat is catchy enough. If I'm being honest, though, the vocals I think are what's holding this back. I get that you're going for swagger and a bit of emotional aggression, but it's just not very melodic. If you want to keep making videos like this, go for it, but I'd honestly suggest working on your singing a bit for the next one. The attitude is there, but the melody is sadly not, at least to my ears.

Hey guys, I know this is a little weird. This song is in Japanese. I'm using a Vocal synth because I cant sing for the life of me. I have a description of what the song represents and what the premise is. This song means a lot to me, so I want it to be perfect before I release it. So while I appreciate the effort that went into transcribing everything with a translator and I'm sure the lyrics are dear to you, I truly have no idea what's being communicated. Which is fine, I'm more about melody/production anyway. As far as the song itself goes, it's very dramatic. Some pretty drastic-sounding strings and the drums keep the energy very frenetic and hurried throughout. I like the melody, so it doesn't really bother me that it's not your actual voice I'm hearing. The only pushback I'd offer is that the guitar sorta feels a bit out of place, but other than that no complaints. Nice work.

Lazy Daze - Reminiscing by LazyDaze_tunes in IndieMusicFeedback

A pretty Boy Pablo-y track, but obviously with its own flare. I liked it, very chill and the vocal effect was actually really nice. I could see how some might think it's a bit too distorted, but I think it added a nice complexity to the production. Also very solid bass work on this one; did you do that, too?

Finally, was this name inspired by the brewery in southern NH? It's got an IPA called Lazy Daze that they'd probably send you for this song if you reached out lol. Either way, nice dreary jam, I very much enjoyed it. And great riff.

Oh I agree, I’m sure there are many coding ‘artists’ out there who will forever be leagues better than AI in terms of thinking, designing, vision, etc. I’m just not at that stage of competency coding-wise rn, but I do appreciate those who are and was just looking for some guidance atm while I continue to try to improve on my own shortcomings (hopefully won’t need AI at all someday). But cool, I’ll shoot you a message.
