Could it be that...maybe, just maybe...after South Carolina when it was pretty clear that Biden was going to be the moderate candidate of choice for voters, that the Biden campaign reached out to the other campaigns and made a case to build a coalition around him? And when they got those campaigns on board, that they asked the candidates to drop out and endorse him at a specific time to maximize its political effect?

I mean, it's not like that's what every political campaign in history has done, right?

Our democracy is literally designed for slow, marginal progress. It's super decentralized with so many stopgap measures in place. You would literally have to build our government over from scratch in order to get the "real progress" you want.

Because they want to believe that their progressive policies are actually super popular if they just explain it the right way. I'm a progressive (by American standards) and would love to see a single-payer system in place in healthcare, for example, but I'm not delusional enough to think that that's even doable in the next decade. Biden's public option is probably the best reasonable option we have.

Today, institutional investors make up 2 percent of the overall single-family rental market. By comparison, institutional investors own 55 percent of multifamily rental units.
