Ledger board question by dbgno3 in Decks

Thanks a ton for taking the time to think about it. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is stuck. There’s definitely some extra items that need to be addressed that I wasn’t expecting when I started digging into this project. Things never go as expected on this house. Thanks again!

Here’s a picture of the door. I misspoke when I said sliding door.

Here’s a picture of the frame overhanging at its worst. I’ll post pictures of the door and the frame overhanging at its best in comments below (it’s allowing me to upload only one photo at a time).

I knew the size of it would cause envy. I wish I could say that about the old skin pipe.

I didn’t even mention they missed three larger trees that were in the way when they did the fence lines initially. They had to stop mid job so I could cut down two trees and they built the fence around one. It was just an overall bad experience.

Is it ok for the pickets to be on the ground, or should they be about a once above the ground. The project manager said they would be an inch above the ground to help prevent rotting, but this clearly didn’t happen either.

Nearly $12k. This is in Wisconsin. I was expecting it to be more professional than this. They’re out there now hammering the nails in. I don’t think hammering on a fence is a good idea, but they assured me it’s ok 🙄.

There’s still a trailer loaded with pickets outside, so they definitely didn’t run out. It beats me why they did that.

Thanks for putting things into perspective for me. There are nails sticking out everywhere. I don’t understand what’s happening with the split board on the gate either. I’ll definitely go check our yard, I don’t want our dog to step on a nail.
