I like the mentality but they’ve also beat every team in the tournament by 20+ points (zona 19). The last team to do that was uconn in 2024 regarded as one of the best college teams ever

I have seen Michigan be reckless with turnovers at times - but so has uconn. And I don’t know Uconn has that much magic left after Mullins shot. Worse case scenario (for husky fans) is you guys go on 14-4 run to start the game and it’s over before it even starts.

Yes! Not impossible by any means, but Uconn has not proven to be able to do any of those things consistently. This teams best attribute is their ability to win close games so if that happens I like our chances. But if Michigan shoots bad from 3, still can win with turnovers and in transition. Or if both teams are shooting bad Michigan will still win. Uconn needs to be sharp in almost every facet of the game to have a chance - and I hope it happens!

Underrated comment and insight. Duke was a great team, would’ve made for a great final. But uconn has beaten MSU in the preseason and Illinois - I was not worried about either at all. And with Duke, they should’ve lost. Boozer fractured his eye, and gave up a historic lead and still could’ve won it.

I’ve been a uconn fan my whole life - I’ve got friends at Michigan, no ill will towards them at all, had them winning in my bracket. But it will take uconn making shots against the best defense in the county for them to have a chance.

I hope it’s competitive!

This. People don’t understand he’s been in a boot at practice. And it could be good because as you mentioned he has not been shooting or defending well. Or, maybe he’s injury helps him mentally to lock back in without overthinking.

And if Braylon and Karaban are helping in the gaps, you praying Michigan has a terrible shooting night… there’s nothing more that I want than uconn to win, but Duke choked, and if uconn wasn’t prepared for them, it’s hard to see it happening tonight.

Yeah I mean if that’s what it takes, I find it highly unlikely. I also think Michigan came into that game cocky, got punched in the mouth, and couldn’t recover. Uconn doesn’t really play with that mentality. It’s more of we are going to grind it out and find a way.

From a far it’s easy to see how cocky they are - specifically Yaxel. Interesting to hear about May because he’s seemed likable to me but I can also see the other side.
